Thyme & Table Acacia Wood Mortar & Pestle

I am extremely happy and imprrywith the quality of my new Morta and Pestle! It is madr of excellent quality and resistant materials, very sturdy and lightweight. I absolutely love how it looks! It is almost like a decorative piece over my kitchen countertop!

I have to comment on the blue accent of the both the wooden brown and pestle, makes it pretty to use. Goes with my color scheme in out kitchen. Useful in the kitchen for many cooking preparation process, ie crushing panko bread crumbs, parmesan cheese or Ritz cracker for side and main dishes. It is also useful when preparing cilantro for homemade salsa. Recently recovering from jaw surgery, it was used it to crush some meds I was unable to swallow, real helpful a real plus. It is easy to clean, rinse, wipe and dry. Easy store in my cabinet with other cooking necessities. Benefits are numerous, very well made and durable. Would highly recommend

Thyme & Table Acacia Wood Morta & Pestle came at the right time and is really good. I love the wooden and plastic look that it has as well as the color. The material used is of great quality and it gets the job done. I use it for pounding my jollof rice and soup spices. It's really convenient and portal. Love it and wl recommend it

This Mortar & Pestle set has a smooth wood surface. It is 4" high and 4" wide. It has tall sides that keep contents from spilling out, which prevents minimal kitchen messes. Its weight of 9.37 oz w/o pestle and 11.27 oz w/pestle provides extra stability while in use. It is the same height and width as my 16oz coffee mug! I was able to quickly grind dried whole basil and oregano leaves in seconds to use in my homemade pasta sauce. I was able to crush my Egyptian Chamomile Tea leaves into both fine and coarse textures to use in my tea ball. I also used this set to crush my dog's daily vitamin tablet into a fine powder and put it in her food. It has so many uses, saves time and is easy to clean. This smooth set did not work as well when I tried to crush whole garlic cloves, as I had to really work at it to get the consistency I wanted: I needed a mortar with defined ridges when texture is more important and aids in breaking down tougher items like sesame seeds, peppercorns, tenderizing the skins of hot chiles, and pounding glutinous rice. But for dry spices, this set is excellent! I just wish the bottom of the mortar had non-skid silicone, like my mixing bowls. I was impressed with the overall design and function of this set.

This is a beautifully made mortar and pestle and I love the color but the wood smells weird and it’s incredibly off putting. I can’t run it through the dishwasher or let it soak obviously. I’ll just soap and rinse in really hot water until the smell goes away. Otherwise it feels like a great quality mortar. I wish the pestle was a little heavier.
