Please reinforce the bottom. I have always been careful about where I set it down (afraid to puncture the bottom). I apparently messed up this time because something put a very tiny hole in the bottom. This is a very expensive can for how fragile it is.
At first glance, this appears to be very well made and designed. The spout is a real help trying to dispense fuel into an opening on the side of equipment, instead of wrestling with a short, immoveable plastic funnel. This is exactly the reason why I spent the extra money on this design. The dispensing lever is very easy to engage and in a perfect spot. I gave only four stars because this is very expensive for a gas can and while it seems well made, time will tell how well the seals, spout, cap, and valve hold up. I will revisit this review in a months time to update if possible.
This is my third 5 gallon can. I am just adding more cans to increase the fuel on hand. My original cans, now a fews years old work perfectly! Yes, these are expensive. However, they do NOT blow up like a balloon when the temperature increases, spill fuel in the name of safety, leak (including fumes), or fall apart after a year or two. They DO offer precise flow control and are relatively easy to fill. The cap is spring loaded and seals tight.
For those who enjoy industrial design as an aesthetic medium, this is the One. Beautiful and functionally excellent. Doesn't melt or explode even if heated by adjacent fire.
Seriously, a gas can inspired me to write a review. It's that good. The fact that its back to being a metal can and even a heavier gauge than the old ones is awesome. Even so its still not too heavy. The 1 inch nozzle will empty the can in just over a minute. That's 5 gallons into the tank in not long at all! The only gripe I have is that you cant just open the filler hole to pour from another can like I was expecting. It is spring loaded and forced to close. All in all, an excellent can.
