Sony XS-R1643 - Speaker - 50 Watt - 4-way - coaxial - 6.3"

When i got my truck it still had its original 5 1/2" speakers. i replaced them once with some old bostwicks that were layin around, blew them in a week or so. i had a very limited budget, but found these and borrowed some money from my folks. i am glad i did, these speakers get loud and still have excellent sound quality, the bass is ok but even a small sub will make any car sound better. the one and only issue i have with these is when listening to metal or country with really high highs they tend to blend the sound and not really put out the true sound, all in all they are the way to go. My system sony Xplod cdx gt720 (straight to these) sony Xplod 600 watt amplifier (xm6040) and a 10" sony Xplod gtx110 subwoofer GREAT SYSTEM

I think this is a great pair of speakers and will provide an excellent amount of bass if you can set your stereo to the proper settings. I have a Sony Xplod stereo and it works great with these speakers.

I actually bought 2 pairs these because alot of people gave it a high rating and would be perfect for my Sony system(deck,amp,10" subs). It was to replace my stock 03 civic speakers, front and rear deck. I first replace the rear deck, to find out that the stock was screwed down w/ only 3 screws and these speakers were a little bit smaller than the stock. So i used one of the pre-existing holes and drilled out a couple of new ones to secure it down. As hooked it up and tested it, I was a bit disappointed. I compared the it from the stock front speakers and found out that the stock sounded better. So i returned 1 pair and kept the other because the rear deck needed to be replaced anyway. The highs were good and the bass is weak, the stock had better bass. It distorted easily as one other reviewer commented. Maybe it needs to be hooked up to an amp? Overall it's ok. Would i recommend this? Maybe, if you it was hooked up to an amp, but not to a stereo only. Hope this helps.

I bought these for a 1995 model auto.......many similar (with same dimensions)auto speakers have a much larger frame and require extensive alterations to make them fit.....Not these.........perfect fit.....no alterations......just as slim and easy to install as the factory speakers I removed.!!!!! Great Quality!!! Excellent Value!!! Sounds Great too.... Highly Recommend!! Exceeded my expectations

I have bought many sony xplod speakers over the years for various vehicles and these deserve their sony name. I read other reviews on this product and they are just simply using them wrong, if you want bass, get a baffle for behind the speaker! After i tuned my eq's, they sounded great! Very loud with very little distortion. I have an off-road pickup that these were mounted in and since water frequently gets into the door, the plastic-like cone isnt destroyed like the paper ones for about ten bucks cheaper. Over the years I have yet to blow a single xplod speaker and that includes running some at double rated power! This one looks to be right on track for years of full volume enjoyment.
