This was never a powerful or good starting battery. I keep all my batts on a trickle charger when not in a currently used vehicle. This was no different. It was in the car I bought it for being used continuously until one day it "clicked" the solenoid. Test 10volts. Charged overnight with a 2amp charger, showed full. Tried to start and went from 13.4v to less than 10v immediately. Took to Wally world and they tested it as bad, so offered a pro-rated amount towards a new one. Once all was said and done, they said, "Oh, by the way, the new battery you just bought only comes with whatever warranty was left on your old battery, not the 5-years it says on it." At that point, I had them void the sale since I was paying more for a battery with half a warranty, than if I just took the pro-rated refund and bought a new battery with warranty. Too many people I know who have these have had them go all the sudden long before the warranty period was up. I'm not leaving my fate on the side of the road to these batteries again. You'll take your chances here...
The EverStart Maxx Lead battery worked/fit great in my 2007 Dodge Charger. Easy to install and it started right up after installation. I went and picked it up at the local Wal-Mart and it took me about 5 minutes and the clerk helped me find the correct size for my car. I would recommend this to anyone who is in the market for a battery.
Dealer replaced the first battery at the end of warranty period (quoted $450 but under warranty); the OEM replacement battery then lasted 7.5 years, and would still start the car once...but not twice. The Maxx H8 is longer, but fits right in; factory positive terminal guard snaps right in place on the Maxx. Took 5 minutes to install; need 10mm for terminals and 13mm for battery hold down bolts on all E46's. 5 years for $120...quite the deal! Oh yeah....and 900 CCA can only help.
This battery fits many European models, the Wal-Mart part finder does not identify this battery for most of them. Wal-Mart would sell hundreds of these, if they just knew which cars it went in. I just put one in my 1979 Porsche 928, perfect fit, correct cranking amps, started the V8 right up, after sitting for 2 years! Group 49 equivalent
Well, my 95 BMW M-3 battery finally failed after ten years of loyal service. So i call the stealer-ship and find that a replacement would be $247.00 + TAX. I researched some and found this H-8 that has 50% more CCA and is a direct fit replacement with the required vent holes and plug and all for only $119.00!!!! So i did the math and hope that i will get at least 5 years out of this one. NOTE: THE 95 M-3 HAS PROVISIONS FOR THREE DIFFERENT LENGTH BATTERIES. THIS H-8 IS THE LARGEST THAT WILL FIT IN THIS MODEL VEHICLE. I will re-post if the battery life is insufficient.
