Steamfast Multi-purpose Steamer

The SteamFast Floor mop really does an outstanding job. The cover for the mop is useless, I use old dish towels. The towels absorb more and clean better. Removed hairspray build up on my ceramic tile floor in the bathroom. Really does a great job on all the tile and grout. Like any cleaning product a little "elbow grease" goes a long way. Don't expect the steamer to do everything, but it sure does help a lot with heavy cleaning projects.

I picked this steam machine because it was a multi-function steamer that received the Good Housekeeping Seal. Boy was I was disappointed. The handle is very flimsy- the plastic sleeve came off. The cloth cover was a struggle to put on and is very thin. The cord is too short. Now I will have to return this and buy a Haan or Bissel.

I needed something to steam out the grout in between my tiles on my floor. This does a fair job but it does leave a lot of water on the floor which needs to be mopped up at the end. I like that I'm not using chemicals but it's not as easy as it makes it sound.

I'm impressed. This product met and even exceeded my expectations. It is simple to put together and use. Instructions are straight-forward and easy to understand. Everything worked exactly as it said it would. Light weight. It did an excellent job on my 45-year old cushion vinyl kitchen floor and bathrooms, and the laminate in livingroom and bedrooms with no trace of water...just a lovely squeaky clean feeling. The cord is approx. 10-12 ft. long, too. Even if you do have to unplug and restart the unit it reheats almost immediately. I did have to make my own mop head pads as the one that came with the unit did not fit and you will have to change them frequently depending on how dirty your floors get. At no time did the pads over-saturate with water...but they did get really hot so be careful changing them. I even steamed my mattresses and bedding! I did not rate this unit for durability or value for price paid as I have not had nor used it long enough to be sure it won't break by next month. Even so, I'd buy another one; I don't have to lug around or change the water in or dump & refill a sloshy heavy bucket, use smelly, toxic cleaners or wring and hang drippy mops! YAHOO! This product has cut my mopping time considerably.

The steam mop appearance was excellent. After assembling the product and preparing to test it, I found in the first test scenario, that the floor head was defective. Since, I could not clamp a cloth to the floor head and the instructions state that the floor head should never be used without a cloth, I stopped the testing. The primary uses that I had planned for the steam mop, required the floor head.
