The only problem with mine is that the screw holes to mount the base legs were not drilled out to the correct depth so the screws on two of the three legs would not go in deep enough. I had to drill out the holes myself and then the screws fit deep enough.
This coat rack is great. It went together very well. I read the reviews so figured out that the legs went is very specific places. There were no real directions, but anyone with commmon sense could figure it out. I love the color, the size and most of all the stability. I am glad I bought two of them!
For the winter I will use the coat rack as a place to hang coats where it is warm as my entry way is very cold. Well for me, I chose the natural finish as it matches the wood in my kitchen, and I could afford it. The place where three of the long hook screw in oppose one another as there is only room for one screw...it appears, as the other two just won't screw in as the first one is in the way of the other 2 inside the pole. This is not so great.
could not get one screw to completely go into leg to secure it properly. also, one hook screws in but not tightly so not sure if it won't fall out when coat is hung on it. looked for 1-800 number on instrution sheet but found none. it will do since it is in a house with only two people living in it.
The base is assembled using an allen wrench which is supplied. But the configuration of the base makes complete revolutions with the allen wrench impossible unless turning while holding the short end which was hard to turn without the use of pliers... Other than that, it was relatively painless to assemble and seems strong and sturdy. There were some natural imperfections in the wood (coloring), but nothing major.
