I love the phone but the carrier altered the OS to the point to where the fun Samsung bits are hard to enable or non-existent. Verizon felt it should be harder to turn on and off Wi-Fi so they removed the toggle, as well as they think it's should be time consuming and redundant to silence so they also removed the notifications toggle. It's too bad that Samsung doesn't have more say for how the companies they sell their products under revises the software to best suit no one's needs. Otherwise it's a good product, just wish it was quad- core in America.
As this is my first smartphone I really don't have anything to compare with but it has surpassed all my expectations. It's like having a computer at my fingertips. My wife and I both bought Galaxy S3s and we couldnt be happier. Our last phone was also a Samsung (Zeal), so we knew of the qwuality of the build and long lastingness.
Yes the screen is beautiful.......but if you can't get signal, it isn't worth a dime. My Dad and I went on a trip 40 minutes away. His phone is a seven year old "dumb" phone. I spent good money on my "Smart" phone and didn't have signal during 98% of the trip. My Dad is also on the same carrier, so it is not the carrier. Samsung needs to come out with a patch or an antenna quickly on this.. Sorely disappointed and I wouldn't recommend it. A lot of money for nothing.
I waited forever after I lost my 1st Samsung Galaxy S to a cup of java and because I had had it so long I couldn't replace it - feeling I had lost my dear friend forever...FINALLY the III comes forward & she's all I missed in my Galaxy I & more - 100% more. It seemed forever in the waiting but Galaxy III was so worth waiting for. I love everything about it! Samsung gives so much thought to it's products and customers while keeping the integrity of the brand in tact & once you own your first Galaxy you're hooked for life! It has so many features that continue to amaze, if anything it has so many I've had it since July I still am learning new things everyday! (I must say I also own a wash machine and dryer by Samsung and per their standards the brand is awesome through all their products - if anything I could wish for it would be to own more of them!)
My Galaxy S III has a problem with dropping from 4gLte to 3g which does not work on my phone. I thought Galaxy S III was supposed to be a fantastic phone, but my old Android phone was better on 3G. My phone goes there several times a day even when others do not. If everything worked correctly I believe it would be a fantastic phone.
