This is an adorable game. My three year old doesn't really care about using the dice yet, but he greatly enjoys having the frogs eat flies. The frogs are a little hard to squeeze open for him as they are almost bigger than his hand, but its still fun.

This is an activity set called Froggy Feeding Fun It is for ages 3 and up and Grades Pre-k up. It has 65 pieces 60 flies, 2 frogs, 2 dice 1 color die and 1 number die An activity guide It develops muscles for writing, cutting and more. It developes number sense, counting and color recognation. Strengthans moter skills. The child has to squeese the frog to get the mouth to open and then you tell them to either pick a color or number of flies by rolling either the color die or number die. Squeezing the frog to get his mouth to open developes thumb forefinger strength critical to learning how to have a firm pencil grip. Young hands will learn very fast and have the strenth. Its even good for old people like me because its not easy for weaker hands. You should give the child time to explore how to play with the frog and flies by showing them how to play with them. You want them to use the frog the right way so that they will build muscle strength the right way. And to corordenate their hands by using one hand to squeese the frog and the other to feed fliesto the frog. You can also have the child make piles of flies in the same colors, to help them lear the differnt colors. The price is $18.30 but walmart has it at $15.25
This is very interesting when I first received this game from the Spark Reviewer program free for my honest feedback,I read the instructions and thought to myself there are things here to learn for children of all ages from learning how to move your hands, for example picking up the frog and squeezing it till its mouth opens which helps the child with muscle strength in the hands and fingers, pretty cool, right? There is also learning how to color match, you can teach the numbers this game is pretty neat, like the saying goes"dont judge a book by its cover" I will be honest,I was not quite sure what this game was like,I thought it was going to be like Tiddly Winks,to my GREAT amazement it is more than one game, there are soo many activities within this little box,you can use and re use for a few years depending on the ages, the box says start at 3 and half at pre school level but the part about squeezing and the muscles of he hand makes me think maybe younger, just for that part of development, like building blocks. I really love this concept:)
I was pretty happy about receiving this item. I figured it would be simple enough for my 3 year old and it was. It's great because it comes with different colored flies and 2 plastic frogs ou squeeze open to collect or (eat) the flies. You can pretty much make up your own game if you want or you can use some of the ideas provided. They have little foam dice that are colored and numbered so you can roll them and match how many and what color. When I first received them I did notice that the frogs were extremely hard to squeeze open. My husband suggested that they were probably just too cold from being outside and that we should let them warm up which I did, and they worked great then. They are a little difficult to open even when they are warmed up so your little ones might need some help from you. Both the flies and the dice are foam. And the frogs are hard plastic a little stiffer than a rubber ducky. There's nothing more to the game than the dice, the frogs and the flies. It doesn't take up much space and really would be an ideal game to take traveling for that reason.
