26" Kent Tandem Bike 21-Speed Dual Drive, Grey/Silver

Got this bike so the wife and I could spend quality time together. Well worth the investment! However the paint had several scratches on it that went to the metal. I would have preferred to put the first marks on it myself.

Value? - it was only $279 so I liked the price compared to over $500 for the tandem at the bike store. Delivery? - it showed up in about 4-5 days which was the normal delivery (free shipping). Ease of Setup? - I'm no mechanical genius but this bike was very easy to put together without instructions. And that's good because the instructions that came with the bike were horrible. It actually seems like the instructions were for a different bike. Did notice that instructions were available online. I don't know if they are the same that came with the bike. Met Expectations? - After I got the bike all together, I had to only fill the tires with air. While filling the back tire, I noticed the tire was coming off of the rim. I stopped filling and quickly deflated the tire and reseated the tire on the rim. Filled again with air... Back tire done. Now to the front tire. This time I made absolutely sure that the tire was seated correctly on the rim. Filled it to 60 psi. (40-65 recommended). Done! My wife pushes the bike and it gets stuck... Again the tire managed to come off the rim and now the tube can be seen bulging out. I try to deflate but it's too late...boom! Off to Walmart for another inner tube. One day later I have the front tire filled with air, only to notice that the rim is severely bent. (Could be why the tire didn't seat correctly.) I called the Kent factory and they sent me a new rim for free. 5 days later it came in and everything works great now. ADVICE. FILL THE TIRES 10 PSI AT A TIME MAKING SURE THAT THE TIRE STAYING ON STRAIGHT! Durability? - not sure because I just put together but it looks good.

This tandem bicycle is a great value for under $300.00. Alloy wheels, dual water bottle holders, gel seats, and great packaging. Take your time during setup, and make sure you read the instructions on adjusting the rear derailleur. Mine took some fine tuning to get the shifting smooth and crisp. Taking your time to make this adjustment is well worth it. Having fun on our new tandem!!!!!!

As several others have said, the instructions lack a ton, but....it can be put together with some basic mechanics knowledge on bikes. My husband and I ride this several times a week and love it. The neighborhood has all commented how they love the bike. We get looks and comments as we ride past people. It's enjoyable and allows both my husband and I to get our exercise together and have fun instead of riding seperate at different speeds!

The bike is sturdy and easy to ride. It is light so we can put in truck on some trips. My adult daughter has slowly lost her vision and we can now go bike riding again. It great as we can talk easily as we ride. The seats are soft, but we got additional padding for them. Walmart was so nice to put the bike together for us and explain details of adjustments if needed. I wish I had bought this many years ago . We love It!
