[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great product! I got this with the intentions of prepping fossils. Well made and easy to use. The stencil is kind of small and the bit should be a little longer. But for the price this is a great little engraver!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to engrave names on glass ornaments and cups that my family members made at a glass blowing class a while back. Wanted something easy to use, could engrave on glass and a variety of other materials, and was relatively inexpensive. I am really glad I bought this tool. I won't be using this alot, but will be glad to have it when I need it. Getting the set screw out and the point in took a little strength, but once it was in all was good. It is a little louder than I expected, but since I am not planning on using it for extended periods, it is ok.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this to engrave my fiance's initials in his work tools to prevent easy theft - and boy was this engraver so easy to use. It does vibrate your hand quite a bit, but I am sure that is to be expected with an engraver. Glad I have it because I can use it for so much more than tools - I got mine second hand - so did not realize this model came with a stencil. I have some stencils that I am going to try using with it to see if that makes a differene.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While this is a great tool for engraving, you have to have a steady hand, took me some time you get the knack of it but for holiday ornaments, finally got the handle on it and really came out great . light weight, just keep your hand steady and don't push too hard
The bit should tighten with a phillips head and NOT with a flat 1/8" screwdriver. The screw is recessed and if you don't have a narrow screwdriver, 1/8" wide, you'll have to buy one. A wider blade will NOT fit into the recessed slot, so you won't be able to install the bit!
