Fountain pens have let me down in the past, but NOT this one. I wrote with it for 5 days in my journal and it's still going strong. No goopy ink on the paper, no smearing / smudging. I think I stopped using them because I was tired of replacing the ink. I just love how the pen moves across the paper. It takes a little practice to get it to work correctly, at least for me, because I hold the pen differently and use a different amount of pressure than I do when writing with ball point pens. It's so worth it though, because it's definitely a much more elegant look. Have had fun practicing cursive all over again!
