After almost two years of frustration with this machine and HP, I'm throwing it out and buying a different manufacturer's product. Have had trouble with the document feeder almost since the start. It does not print the quality I expected. Prior to this machine, I was a happy HP customer with past printers/fax machines, etc. I'm so disappointed with the 7310, I will not consider them again.

I have progressed from an Officejet R40 to an Officejet 7130 to an Officejet 7310. The R40 still works (4+/- years), though not as fast as the 7310, but the R40 produces a better looking document than the 7310. The 7130 had to be replaced in less than a year because of continuous failure of the printheads, probably a faulty concept. The 7310 print quality is less than I expected from HP. I'm still uncertain if the 7310 will meet my requirements.

This printer prints ok, but the ink from this printer runs like crazy and does not last long. The window on the panel of my 7310 blanked out right after my warranty was up. My double-sided feature does not work well. One side of the page prints lower than the other, and it takes a long time to print.

This printer has a problem with the automatic feeder. It is constantly breaking and will not feed the documents. This is my second replacement from the store due to the same problem.

After several months of following directions, updating software, and trying to find a driver that will correct the following problems, I am officially disappointed. The display flickers like an old TV. Printing and faxing are good; copying and scanning are marginal at best. Copies and scans have a dark, shaded background no matter how much you lighten the control. Sometimes when a print command is sent, it goes into a "warming up" mode and never comes out. You have to turn the machine off and start over. This malfunction occurs frequently if you change the basic print settings (# of copies, quality, etc.) Should have taken it back but kept thinking I could correct these faults with a new driver or software; didn't happen.
