Sony Bravia KDL-46S5100 - 46" Diagonal Class BRAVIA LCD TV - 1080p 1920 x 1080 - piano black

My husband wanted a new TV to watch the Superbowl with. We had a little 25 inch TV that was 15 years old. He looked all over and visited Wal-Mart several times looking at the TV's. I did research on the internet and checked reviews. This TV came out on top for our price range. He was going to pick it up on Tuesday, January 5 but decided he really didn't want to spend that much money on one TV it was $988. We went shopping on Friday for groceries at Wal-Mart and we stopped to look at TV's and found the TV had been marked down to $656, we were so happy we bought it right away. We even bought the warrenty and we still got it for a little over $700. The kid that hauled it out accidently dropped the TV off the cart but he assured us it could be brought back if anything was wrong with it. After a few cliches with the speakers, the first few times we turned it on they would stop working and then come back, we were going to take it back but my husband insisted they would be fine. After the first two days they haven't stopped working once. We are very happy with the TV and the value couldn't have been better. A word to the wise check the store out first before buying online and check the ads because you could save yourself hundreds of dollars like we did.

Please take a minute and listen to this as you will not believe this story! We originally purchased this TV the day after Thanksgiving and hauled it home. Within the first week the sound started doing something very strange, it would first start to break up like a radio station that won't come in and then this would continue for about 5-10 secs until the sound was gone completely, then after another 10-15 seconds it would again begin to break up until it came back completely normal. This started all of the sudden one afternoon and would repeat itself at least twice an hour. So we packed up the TV and headed back to Walmart to exchange the TV. Note: as we were starting to leave the store to head home with a new TV but the same model as before the customer service manager told the sales clerk that was the 5th TV with the same issue in just 3 days that had been returned. We left with the TV anyways as we had purchased the best warranty we could get at Walmart. Well, it has been over a month and all has been going great! The TV works OK and the picture is OK even the sound has been working just fine. However, I should have knocked on wood when I told my mom this TV is working fine as the same issue started again at 10 PM tonight. The sound fades in and out completely and is much worse as it is happening about 8 times an hour. So needless to say you know where I am going to be tomorrow. If you do decide to purchase this TV good luck with it and make sure you keep your box as it will be easier on you as you head back to Walmart with your TV when the sound goes out. Happy New Year!

I was skeptical about buying an LCD TV as I do not subscribe to HD cable, but the picture on this TV is amazing. We also get a dozen or so more channels than we were previously picking up for some reason. Very easy installation and simple to use - the picture and sound are great. Don't let the 60hertz scare you away either - I see no shadows or cloud issues even when watching fast moving pro sports. My only knock on this TV is that it takes a second or two to switch between channels, but that's a pretty simple thing to get past for me.

Everything works just as expected except one component input only works in black and white. I have not contacted wal-mart or sony about this yet.

Love it! Did lots of research on different sets and this one was one of the best for the $$. Bought it and was really impressed. I was replacing a rear projection of the same size and resolution (i.e. 1080p 46")and the picture on this is way better. Sound could be improved and it doesn't have a lot of features, but a great tv for a great price at Wal-mart!
