Ingenuity West End Extra Wide Safety Gate

Works well after six months. It takes some tinkering to get the gate to close and the pin at the bottom to catch as the gate swings back. I found that one needed to be careful that fieverything was perpendicular. It is a beautifully made product that, once adjusted, has taken no further fiddling. One note of caution: You may trip on the bottom brace if you do not have some way to remind yourself it is there. I used a night light to remind me. After a week or so, I subconsciously knew it was there and automatically step over it now.

I am sitting amidst the pieces, attempting to assemble the SECOND gate we got from the store. This is the second one not because we have need of 2 gates, but because the first one had to be returned. Now this second gate has the same problems. The holes where the tension bolts are to be inserted are unable to hold the tension bolts, so the bolts just slide all the way in. It is like this for almost every hole where a tension bolt goes. The first gate had the same exact problem. Very disappointing. I had high hopes but am now incredibly frustrated and am leery of Summer brand safety products if this is reflective of their quality control.

The gate is beautiful and looks very sturdy. But it is an absolute pain! We've had several gates and this one is by far the most difficult to install. I understand that it is supposed to be difficult to open, but I need to use 2 hands to open it every time which is absolutely not feasible when you have 4 children that are 3 and under. (A set of twins) The second notch on the top doesn't pull back with the top one, so I have to hold the frame of the gate to force it open. Otherwise the gate wiggles around in the door frame, and still I have to tighten the gate on a daily basis. For all of the money spent on it, I'm extremely disappointed, I don't feel that I got what I paid for. I feel very ripped off. Would NOT recommend to anyone in a realistic living situation, the gate is all looks

It fits perfectly into our extra large space, where regular gates couldn't. Had a little trouble getting it all together the right way, but once I figured it out it was a piece of cake! I love it and definitely won't be taking it down any time soon!!
