Beef and Broccoli has been one of my top choices, but no longer is. I hadn't bought it for 2 or 3 months. Now in December, 2017, I bought one package and am glad that I did not buy more. The sauce is now somewhat spicier than previously and most of that spiciness seems to come from ginger. The savory sauce is overpowered by ginger. i'm saying good-bye to a former favorite.
I usually buy 5 or more of these meals every single week, they used to taste so good about a year or two ago. Now the taste is very different and unpleasant to eat. Something with the sauce and red peppers. It taste like citrus/lemon or ginger or something along that line. Please return to the original recipe you had maybe 1-2 years ago. Until then I'll have to buy from your competitors. Thank you!
Because I work alone on swing shift, I take a TV dinner with me to cook on site 75% of the time. Last night I took a the Marie Callender's Beef w/broccoli & rice dinner. Of all the M.C. dinners I have had over the years, this was the worse. The beef was tough, the broccoli was tough end stems and the sauce was akin to colored water. The only good thing about the dish was the rice. Please improve or I won't be buying any of your products in the furture.
This had to be the most disappointing Marie Callander meal to date, for me. The Broccoli was a "euphemism". Maybe 2 lonely florettes and a several large hard chunks of woody stem. After being forced to put the meal back in the microwave twice after "stirring" II ended up having to cut the "stems" (ie: Lumber) up with a serrated knife in order to get them to cook to anything near tender. The res was "ok" but sadly I had to add some water as it overlooked while I struggled to get the broccoli tender. Skip this meal, till CON-Agra either realizes they need to cut the lumber into smaller chunks, or mechanically tenderize it and put it in something else.
This meal marks the halfway point, at my local grocery store, of the Marie Callender meals I have eaten. So far, all have been excellent. I've even had coworkers walking over to me wondering what smells so good! Thoroughly looking forward to trying the rest!
