It dose eveything I wanted. Only two things I found that stops the five star ratting. It uses a lot of charcoal if thats all you have. The fire box rack not made for hot fires. It bent under the heat. You should season the smoker before use to kill paint smell. Assembly was easy with a cordless drill to help tighten all the screws AFTER assembly.
I bought this grill for my husband for his birthday present. He had been looking at it in the store and was really wanting a new grill. He is very pleased with his present. The only problem he has seen was the temp gauge and only a range not a true temp. But other wise he is happy.
Have used the unit a couple of times so far and was happy with the results. I ordered a actual temp. gauge from Brinkmann and that made temp. control a little easier. There is NOT a direct replacement gauge available so should have just picked up a gauge at Wal*Mart and saved 50% of what it cost me and had the same thing. All in all, I am pleased with the purchase and would consider another one when the need arises.
At first I was skeptical about buying this smoker, I dont like buying many things online. But after my husband put it together and used it for the first time....it was worth every dollar. This smoker is HUGE and very reasonably priced for its size according to my husband. He thought I paid over $300 for it and was shocked when I told him it was under $200! It does seep alot of smoke out from inside, but it is a smoker! The space inside for smoking ig enormous and you can even put food items on the top lid rack for warming. We have used it 3 times in a week and a half!! I would highly reccommend!
I have had this smoker for about a year. I has done an excelent job of smokingribs, brisket, pork roasts, turkey, and salmon. The large fire box is very nice for long slow smoking. I need make a few modifications to the smoker to make it more air tight. I sealed all the seams with high temp silcone sealer and used metal eletrical junction box covers to cover the holes in the lid meant for a rotiserarie. It now holds temperature much better. I also replaced the thermometer in the cover. I like to know the temperature in degrees not just a range. For the price this is a very good smoker. Just make a few low cost modifications and you will have smoker that will provide wonderful tasty pork, beef , fish and poultary.
