I tired to port my phone # with a Straight Talk phone. I have call the customer service dept many times. I get a reference # each time and my phone # never ported. The card with my pin is "used" now and has no value. I never received service. Straight Talk also charged my credit card and I have not been successful getting that charge back. The charge is for the same month I purchased this pin. I decided to stay with my current cell phone company. I am bummed as this seems like a good deal. However, I am willing to pay more for people on the other line to help me and good customer service.
I have the unlimited data, text, etc...but unfortunately the data service does not work on my iPhone. I had everything transferred over from my other straight Talk phone to my iPhone with a straight talk sim card. But unfortunately only my phone number transferred. I had to redo my contacts that did not transfer over and the data service does not work. The instructions that were sent to me via online worked to some degree, but not completely....very disappointed!!!
Apparently Wal-Mart decided to allow me to rate JUST the 45 minute airtime card. What is there to rate? It's an air time card for goodness sakes! The TRUTH is I got this air time card WITH a Straight Talk phone which is a piece of JUNK! The deal was for $99.00, I get a Samsung Galaxy Centura AND the $45.00 unlimited phone card. Well this phone is JUNK! It shuts down ALL of the time. The apps go haywire all of the time and I even tried to transfer back to my old Straight Talk phone and it took 2 DAYS for me to get service back! What a crock! So this review if for the Straight Talk Galaxy Centura phone which is worthless! Not the measly unlimited airtime card.
I've had Straight Talk for a little over a year now, and this was an excellent switch. Being a single guy my phone bill was around $100 with Verizon and I had a few times where I went over my data and/or minutes... I'd had it! So I thought I'd check out Straight Talk. The transfer my number didn't work right at first, but Straight Talk sent me a new SIM card (for free) to get things straightened out and it only took 4 days for it to come in the mail. I have my account on auto-renewal which isn't too much different than a plan and it's only $45+$5(taxes) which is half of what Verizon charged me and I don't have to worry about minutes or data. I do use my wifi most of the time at home so I don't ever hit the cap people talk about when they say "Straight Talk limits your data speed after XX amount of data". I haven't had any issues like that! Also, I learned recently about a rewards program. If you check out this link below, you can earn swag. Yes you have to follow them on FB and twitter, or make reviews like this one, but you can earn enough points to get a phone! How awesome is that? cheaper plan, free phone for just plugging about my experience... heck yeah! This review has been written as part of a deed for the Straight Talk Rewards Club but all opinions are my own. Please visit straighttalk.fancorps.com to learn more.
It is very easy to buy a unlimited card for your straight talk service, the only thing I have to say negative about this is it took a really long time to receive it especially when it comes to your email.I had placed my order for this at 7:44am and did not get it in my email until 4:30am the following morning.I would still order online and just hope next time it's quicker.
