Rust-Oleum High Performance Wheel

Great stuff. Reviving some tired 22 year old painted alloy wheels. Makes em shine like a new dime...well with a little clear over the silver.

I bought this product in the Graphite color to bring my heavily oxidized chrome rims back to life. 15 years of living near the ocean had destroyed my chrome rims. Heavily oxidation and peeling chrome looked aweful. Took off my spare tire...S10 Blazer....to see how this stuff holds up. Took a lot of prep work to clean the rim of oxidation and remove the peeling chrome.Most of the chrome was intact so I roughed it up with a wire rotor brush in a drill. Put two coats of etching primer on, 3 coats of the Rustoleum graphite rim paint and five coats of Rustoleum clear coat. Results were amazing!! Was a little concerned after 3 days paint was still soft and easily push your fingernail in it. Thought this project was a failure but I did spray the rim during cold and rainy weather even though I was in a garage. Set tire and rim in the sun the fourth day and it cured. The gloss and shine looks like a new rim!!.Will follow up to see how it holds up on the vehicle.

I used this wheel paint on my 12 month old Toyota 4Runner. I carefully cleaned the wheels. It looked great when I sprayed it on. However, the paint started chipping and flaking off as soon as I put the wheels back on the car. Within a couple weeks the wheels were an embarrassment.
