Nice touch-screen phone. Not an Android phone so woks with the $30 30 day Straight Talk plan. If 3G and app use is not important then this is the best phone out there. My prior phone was a 4G LTE and I paid $30 a month just for the data, which I seldom used. Now I pay $30 for 30 days and have more minutes and text usage than I will ever need.
I love this phone. I had an I phone and when my contract ran out, I decided to change to Straight Talk. This saves money every month and it has everything I need. I use the $30 a month plan but like that I can upgrade to the $45 plan if I need to. LG phones are very reliable-I had an LG shine years ago and dropped it in a snow drift and was unable to find it for 3 days. When I found it, it had never stopped working!
Phone is excellent value for the price. takes picture, video and wifi works great. Love the straight talk service. Can use with the 30 dollar all you need plan which is more than enough for me.
I have had the 840g for a week now. Seems solid for what it is. Some are calling it a cleaver phone which I'll agree with. All functions are acceptable to me for a non smart phone. The text entry is a bit fidgety as there is not a position sensor so you need to use a menu to change the key entry type. Calls text and simple photos for text are all acceptable. I would recommend this for someone that wants to move beyond a flip phone and doesn't mind a touch screen. I'm still adjusting to it. Be warned it does not navigate like android or iPhone. After a few days I'm used to it now.
I'm still learning about the phone. It was very easy to get the phone set up and transfer my # from my Verizon phone. I have service in the specific locations I need a phone to work. It was easy to get my bluetooth headphone set up. It was easy to get connected to my home WiFi. I don't like that when someone replies to a text, I'm not sure what the reply refers to. My kids tell me that they see the whole conversation on their phone. Maybe it's some setting for me to find. I put all the phone #s from my old phone onto the micro sd card, so they are on this phone, but I can't transfer them into Contacts, I can just do one at a time. I am satisfied with the phone, but I did feel like the poor-relation after getting together with my kids over Christmas and seeing their more expensive phones--but I like my monthly cost better than theirs!
