Straight Talk SAMSUNG T528G, 16GB Dark Gray - Refurbished Prepaid Smartphone

Not a bad phone,if you don't mind not having a smartphone,hard to text (at least for me it is)but it is refurbished and a free phone for me but i plan on getting another phone that is actually a smartphone whitch I miss and can do much more with.However you can get online and surf the web on this phone.So if you don't want or need a smartphone and want something basic that has web axcess this is the phone for you if not i would get a good smartphone.Also it has facebook axcess and can record your voice for a memo or whatever.

Bought it for a first smartphone and wasn't really sure what features I wanted. The phone is good but the voicemail was tricky to set up. Web access is cumbersome but ok. The texting is the worst part of it ... no virtual QWERTY keyboard but instead a keypad where each key is 3 letters hit one for first letter, twice for second letter, 3 times for third letter. Very frustrating to use. The phone was only $5 with the 45$ card so I may get a better phone the next time I buy the 30 day card.

I bought 2 of these phones, 1 for each for 2 of my kids. One wanted to change to Straight Talk and the other I wanted to change to Straight Talk. Problems right off the start. One of the phones doesn't work. It did work for about 5 minutes then the screen went black and that was the end of that. The 2nd phone seems to be working except that it won't load any apps and it's suppose to be a smart phone. ONE PHONE HAS TO BE RETURNED FOR A REFUND OR REPLACEMENT straight out of the box. As far as I am concerned, it was a $5 phone with a $45 service plan. It's JUNK! As for the Straight Talk service, I guess I'm getting what I paid for...cheap service. I am not impressed at all but it's $20 cheaper than US Cellular's prepaid plan and I can use a 4G phone I bought on ebay.

This is the second Straight Talk refurbished cell phone I have purchased. The first refurbished cell phone was exceptional in every respect. It was used for nearly 3 years. Only reason I have replaced it is because the battery wasn't holding a charge as long as I wanted it to. The Samsung T528G isn't a "smart phone" however it is an excellent touch phone! I think it is a good phone for those of us who wants the touch type cell without the function of a smart phone. Only one thing I was disappointed with this phone service is not being able to connect to my email, although it is advertised to be able to do. I would like to note also that Walmart's online ordering and delivery is really good also. I have my orders sent to the Walmart store I shop at and haven't had any problems at all with picking them up. By the way, one last thing...this refurbished phone arrived in perfect condition. It looks brand new without any scratches that you would expect on a refurbished item! To say I would order another refurbished item from Walmart....absolutely without any hesitation! Great service from Walmart, great product, great price!

It is difficult to send or receive phone calls or texts as it freezes up often. The ringer and text alerts often will not go off even when the volume is on high. You can fix these problems by taking out the battery and putting it back in but it is aggravating having to do so many times in a day. I have previously purchased a refurbished phone from wal-mart before and was happy with it for the most part but not with this particular one.
