A Cheaper Blackberry
This is a simple phone to use, and it can be used with the $30 per month plan. It is all the phone that I need and is very easy to use.
I wasn't looking for fancy, just a phone that worked well. Talk text and web works fine with me. I say keep it simple to operate. Just be sure you know what tower you will connect to. I am on the Verizon towers and the phone is great
This is a good phone for me I am old and cant use a touch screen they are too sensitive for me , this phone is great and i can play my MOTOWN tunes.
I bought this phone a week ago for less that $30. I was using a BlackBerry Curve which suddenly quit working and is no longer available with Straight Talk. This Huawei phone is not a BlackBerry but it isn't bad. I did not want an Android phone. I just wanted a phone that I can use as a phone, get emails and texts and things like a calculator, alarm clock etc. This fits the bill. One of the things I liked about my BlackBerry is that I only needed to charge it every three or four days. I had an LG phone that I had to charge every 12 hours. This Huawei phone seems to go for days on a charge. I accidentally left the phone in my car Tuesday night and remembered to look for it today, (Friday). Most of this past week was cold (between 15 -30 degrees) which is a battery drainer. I found the phone in my car and it still had half of the battery left. That was for entire days in the cold! A couple of small cons - As far as I can tell, you can't adjust the snooze time on the alarm. I prefer 10 minutes rather than 5 minutes. There also does not appear to be a case or cover available anywhere for this phone except for the generic sleeve kind. I would like to have some kind of protection from drops. It's pretty slippery. The email function works but, it appears you have to initiate getting new mail each time, it doesn't automatically appear. I have AOL for email and each time I go to retrieve emails, it pulls the latest 40 emails. By the time I figured this out, I had over 300 emails and most were the same 40 messages. Those three cons are minor but, I felt like I need to mention them to explain why I gave it a 4 rating. Overall, I like the phone. It is not a BlackBerry but it is a fair substitute. It does not have a touchscreen - I did not want a touchscreen. I also don't see where there are any apps/extras available but that was not important to me. A long lasting battery and qwerty keyboard were my priorities.
