Straight Talk ZTE LTE Mobile Hotspot w/Bonus $15 1GB Data Plan

Now i gave this 3 stars because the machine is good. Had great signal. Only problem is that I bought this for netflix. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THAT. I went thru 6 GB of data in less than 7 hrs. Yep that is a total of $65 for that amount of data. If straight talk would come out with an unlimited monthly plan I would be on it. I am sending unit back.

There is no information at Walmart or Straight Talk or ZTE websites to tell the difference between the 88 and 89 versions of this St ZTE hotspot. I bought the 89 and either it is defective or made on purpose to not work with verizon lte or both. Had the network been listed in product description at any of these companies, that could help prevent people buying 89 for Verizon lte area. As it stands, I kept asking if I'd bought the wrong one for verizon network and ech people kept telling me mine was the right one for my area until after the Walmart return time was over, then one said this 89is for at&t, not verizon. But also, it may be defective because it would work with a 3g signal but when lte appeared it would freeze up. traight Talk said they'd exchange it but I've been waiting a month since the recieved the one I sent, and have not yet sent a replacement. Hindsight is clear: know the return time, return if a hotspot isn't working right away for you. take it back where purchased so you don't get stuck trying to get a replacement from Straight Talk tech exchange. I never had trouble with my 3g straight talk phone but I seem to have done everything wrong when I tried to get this hotspot. It really shouldn't be necessary to read reviews to get information that ought to be in the product description. I certainly wouldn't have bought this hotspot if I'd read the reviews first. So now I now. If I ever do receive the replacement hotspot, I will report back which model they sent and if it works for me. Don't anyone hold your breath waiting, though.

Bought it for 80 bucks with no bonus data. It worked for 1 hr and stopped working. Device was overheating and turns itself off. Before it died, it says i used up all my newly loaded 2gb data in less than hour. i bought this bec im a longtime ST byob user. Disappointing. ST, pls invest on quality device maker not this stupid paper weight. Returning this overpriced piece of garbage. Support tried to help resetting it (apparently they get this a lot) but device wont cooperate.

Walmart website says this will work in my zipcode, but Straight Talk could not activate. Also, item shipped without bonus 1GB Data card. Don't waste your money.

There is a reason why they are bundling a free $15.00 data card with this, it's because it's a inferior product compared to the version that runs on the Verizon Network. Buyer beware!
