Augason Farms Beef Flavored Vegetarian Meat Substitute 2 lbs 5 oz No. 10 Can

I ordered 4 of these for emergency food and I decided to try one. It was pretty good in spaghetti sauce. Looks like cooked hamburger. A good source of protein. It will be great to put in sauce dishes such as stroganoff, sloppy joes, tacos etc. A great product. I am going to get more definitely.

You know, when I first thought about buying one of this Company's offerings I thought.... "$5 and change for a couple of pounds of fake meat? * BUT........ I make "Sloppy-Joe's" and meatloaf with it, and more, and it's NOT just ..."Not bad," it's... surprisingly GOOD food! * NOTE: Dehydrated it's a couple of pounds but re-constituted it's like 6-7 lbs I guess, and that's a LOT of Sloppy-Joe's for a 5 note! In truth, the "REAL food" too is mostly water in reality. ( The same goes for the other items...... Even the higher price ones still work out a good value when you consider the "REAL" weight they are going to be. ) I LOVE the dried apples that I can keep on hand ALL YEAR round because they're awesome broken into pieces and re-hydrated for my oatmeal. If you've got imagination,... A few herbs and spices and/or tomato sauce etc etc can make this stuff believably real enough to fool those guests not knowing.......... Shhhhhh, I HAVE ! And there's the Plus of....... Hiding a can on yourself way in back of the cabinets... ((For YEARS if you wish) for those times you got too busy to shop for a couple of weeks. Frugal folks... You can even fill-out a lot of Ramen Noodles cheaply and nutritionally with a couple ounces of this stuff.

This was my first experience using a meat substitute. I love it. No more ground beef for me. I used my Auguson beef to make spaghetti. That was so delicious that I decided to make some enchiladas. They were yummy too. The next time, I made some bbq sandwhiches. This meat substitute works into improving my healthy program quite well.

Well I'm a Vegetarian, this product I use with part of my daily meal, and also I can create a good meal with my vegetables and beef Vegetarian meat... I use it with the Augason bell peppers and onion product....

I am an ethical omnivore, have been all my life. I was looking through the Augason farm section and came across this. It got positive reviews so I ordered a can. I love it! My favorite way is added to soup right before it's done.
