This is Great to have on hand .. we like the food .. and we also store water .. so if you are buying this for food storage in-case of an emergency make sure to store water and a way to heat it. Also buy some Wide Mouth thermos to make the dehydrated foods in .. Just add food pour in boiling water put the lid on and in 20 min enjoy ! I order a couple of these every other month to make sure I have a lot on hand being it stays good for 25 years. I don't have to worry about it going bad .. I got so tired of rotating foods and went to this so much nicer :)

Got this to test it out to see if it would be suitable for survival situation or daily use. This product passed both taste for short term or daily use. Variety is limited however this does not take away in the slightest from the quality or my recommendation of this product. Well done Augason Farms. Sam's should carry this on shelves especially here in Louisiana.

I just made a two-month motorcycle journey across the U.S., up through Canada to Alaska and back and relied on Augason Farms as my backup meals and they were just great. I had a number of cold and rainy days where I couldn't build a fire to cook a meal and was able to make tasty and healthy meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner with these meals. I have recommended them to several of my motorcycle friends and other friends as well.

I only tried parts of it. Not the tastiest but I did not expect it to be a gourmet meal, just enough to survive. I have not tried any others so difficult to make comparisons. I have used MREs and they for the most point were very good and easier to prepare I thought that the container would contain a fire starter NOT. Only a cake of sawdust.

I purchased the initial food storage pail as a "tester" based on the other comments and reviews. Confirmed, the packaging is sub-par to vacuumed cans, but about average for Mylar containment. Best packaging came from the smaller packages of soup where the air tight containment seemed to be more intact. This is a good supplemental for camping and the pantry/long-term food storage. I wouldn't rely on it totally, as you will get pallet fatigue quickly. I will probably buy a couple of these for my pantry, but no more than that. I would like to see smaller servings per package -- it would be better for the pantry and camping.
