Great Graphics and game play, good story, less of the cheesiness that was in X-2. I was skeptical at first, but I like the new battle system thanks to a feature call "gambits". The world layout is great. The world is cohesive and the battle screen and "world" screen have been seamlessly merged. This will be a big improvement for those who hate "random encounters" from the old versions as you see monsters ahead of time and can often plan your route to fight easier ones or pass by peaceful ones. I'm guessing going from one area to the next may have some long load times on the PS2, not an issue on the PS3. Negatives are that the "license board" pretty much means all your characters will be the same if you do a lot of side quests. Not an issue for me as I did extra stuff such as "hunts", but it seems that if you tried to only follow the main story that you would be forced to stop and level before progressing in some places.

This game is acting as the intro to the Final Fantasy for me. And i got to say i love it. its one of those games that are hard to get into but once you start to understand it it is real fun and easy to get wrapped up in. Honestly, love this game so much it recently stoped working cause of ovruse. I love this game and cant wait for the next FF.

Nice game. As said before, a bit more politically centered than the other Final Fantasy titles, with a different battle system. However, if you've played FFX-2, the battle system will not be hard to grasp. Love the fact that the battles are no longer random. Great storyline, beautiful CG sequences. Even basic cut scenes can be compared to other games' CG sequences' details.

The Pros: Excellent Graphics, solid music soundtrack, and somewhat interesting characters. The Cons: Too much emphasis on cinematics, the License system can be a little intimidating (even when one gets the hang of it), and easy to forget what's going on with the storyline due to how deep it gets. Overall: Not too shabby.

This game overall was pretty sweet. For a PS2 it has very nice graphics and is pretty long. I personally haven't beaten it yet because I don't really have the time to play it. I like how they changed the game-play to the active-time battling. I agree that you can level-up a lot faster and the storyline flows together pretty nice. So if you have the time and $20 on you, pick it up. Trust me, you'll have a good time.
