Same as many other reviewers, I don't feel any noise get canceled when I used it on a flight, but only a bit louder for the played sound. Ears start getting uncomfortable after wearing it for a couple of hours. It looks nice, but can be hardly considered a noise cancellation head phone

Pros: Just what they proclaim to be, noise-canceling headphones. They do indeed cancel out some ambient sound. They also amplify as a by product. Has an inline volume control, came with a battery so ready out of the box, and an airplane travel adapter. Cons: (for some people) The noise canceling does involve bumping up the output audio signal. They only seem to actually adjust in one way, the over ear clip bits. Could be naturally louder but are equally loud as any of my other headphones. Note: while some reviews say the noise canceling is ONLY amplification of the source signal, if you just listen to something drone, say a computer, then turn on the cancellation without an input, you can hear the difference.

I bought these phones for $10 after a sale. They do reproduce good sound, not just for the money. Don't be fooled by the noise cancelling feature. It just makes the volume fuller/louder. I welcome it though. My little ears do just fine with the size and shape of the cushions. Cons: I wish the cable were a bit longer. Or at least the length between the headphones and control stick for noise cancelling/volume were closer together. The adjustment notches don't adjust small enough even for my big head. Weird.

I have been desperate for noise cancellation headphones since flying with screaming children, snoring passengers, and loud talkers. But, who can afford BOSE? Jeez! These are not BOSE quality but they are excellent quality for the price. They are comfortable and easy to store. Save yourself several hundred bucks and go for these instead of the BOSE.

I bought this product to use on the airplane to cover some of the noise, when I listen to my music. The product did deliver, but you can still hear some noise, not as much if you had a regular headphone. Only request: Philips should have a instruction manual with the product.
