Kenmore Three Quarter Size Sewing Machi

My mother in law bought this machine for me 7 years ago. I had never sewn before- but she was determined to teach me. So this little machine has served me well for the past 7 years. IT has been tough and forgiving in all of my mistakes and stood up to more complicated sewing projects as I learned. I haven't had one problem with it. EAsy to use for sure. My one complaint: when I am sewing fast, it shakes quite a bit. CHeers to you little blue machine.

I'm a BEGINNER sewer. I bought mine at a price 40% cheaper than what walmart is selling it for. Anyway out of the box, it was heavy for it to be small. It seems to have metal insides when I looked up inside it. It had a lot of oil on the throat plate which lets me know it was brand new (I couldn't tell from the outside because the box was so beat up). I tested sewing straight lines on a college rule piece of paper and it wasn't difficult. It does go quite fast right off the bat but it isn't anything that'll deter someone from sewing on it. It is a lot quieter than I expected it to be. On my machine, the reverse lever is defective (pulls down to the side as opposed to straight down) but hopefully that doesn't causes me major issues in the future. I've tried 3 brother machines. The cs6000i, xl2600 and the ce5000prw. They all are so cheaply made and my test fabric and thread suffers punishment because of that. I really hope my new kenmore sewing machine (I call her blu ivy lol) is better. I'll give an update and rate again when I actually sew on my test fabric. Tata for now!! Btw today is my bday :) not that anyone cares though.

love the look but not overly impressed with the performance by the reviews I read I expected more

I could not get the machine to sew more than a few inches before the bobbin caught and I got a bunch of threads on the reverse. I tried everything to rectify this, support could not suggest anything so I returned the machine. I have ordered a replacement and am still waiting on this. Disappointing quality control. I liked the look and feel of the machine and will be happy if the replacement works as it should.

Love this machine. I sew a lot of thick items. This machine handles it with ease. I would recommend this to anyone that has to sew thicker items.
