LG WM3488HW 24 Inch Front Load Washer Dryer Combo

This washer/dryer combo is the biggest disappointment I've ever purchased. In the description on the website where I bought it, it told of the wonderful features but nowhere does it say you can only dry a few articles at a time and must pile the rest of your wet clothes somewhere else. Nowhere does it say you then have to wait up to three hours for one load to dry. There's no dryer temperature setting so it either comes out very damp or almost scorched with wrinkles set in so bad even a steam iron won't get them out. I've had a number of things shrink beyond being able to wear them again. I purchased this in October but because of malfunctioning parts I wasn't able to use it till early December way after any hope of being able to return it. Buyer beware.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG Washer/Dryer takes up very little space and can wash and dry clothes with one machine. We have had our washer/dryer unit for 3 years and has operated just great. It did need to have some lint cleaned from a collector inside, but otherwise it has performed well over three summer seasons. You can plug it into a 110-Volt outlet and it won't need a dryer vent hose. It uses a fluff & tumble cycle with heat to dry the clothes. It does take longer, but the clothes come out clean and dry. It is perfect for a dorm-room, small home, seasonal home or for anyone who has limited space or only a 110-volt power outlet available.

So far i've only ran a few loads thru it to test it out. But that being said its awesome. Who cares if it takes a little longer to dry you don't have to tend to it like a washer and dryer. You just throw all your clothes in and go about your business, and when the machine is done drying it tumbles your clothes so they don't wrinkle, plus the fact that it doesn't use crazy brutal heat on your clothes makes them stay nice and soft. It takes up very little room in our tiny house!

So thankfully I haven't spent money on this, but I've spent hours and hours of time having to hang dry clothes because this dryer is absolutely terrible when it comes to drying. (I'm not allowed to use foul language) I have pets, and it cannot take any of the pet fur off the clothes, it's very embarrassing. And if you have anything like jeans or denim you're trying to dry, it will never dry. Somehow a dry only cycle still manages to have water in it. And if I actually want to try to dry something, it probably takes about 6 hours of drying in this washer/dryer combo to maybe get semi-dry. it sucks energy like you wouldn't believe. Since I've stopped using it as a dryer, I've actually SAVED on my energy bill. Unfortunately I'm renting an apartment and this washer dryer combo came with the apartment so I have no way of replacing it or changing it out with something actually useful.

I had planned to buy stacked full sized units BUT my builder didn't leave enough space in the laundry closet. So I thought I was settling for a lesser solution with the WM3488HW BUT I was wrong. This unit is amazing! I have had an other washer dryer combos unit (Splendide) but it just wadded up the clothes (And it wasn't ventless). The LG unit is hard to believe. I put the clothes in before I go to work and when I get home, the clothes are clean and fluffed! It's also amazing that it doesn't need a vent to the outside and yet it doesn't raise the humidity or temperature of the house that I can notice. I know the science behind it but it still borders on magical in my opinion. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
