I absolutely LOVE my new Brother Sewing Machine! I have only ever done small repairs by hand. I begged my mother for months to come show me how to use it. I got tired of waiting for her and bored one day... I put the DVD in and sat down. I could not believe that at the end of an hour I had made new curtains for my living room that looked so great! I did it! YOU made it easy to learn. Thank you!

I have proven that I am incapable of learning from my lessons. Just bought my third (in three years)Brother machine (had the XL 5600 and 2030 earlier) after giving up on my last one which kept jamming. I drove in a snowstorm to Walmart just so I can sew on a rare free weekend, bought this one for $79, brought it home and it jammed on my third attempt. Another complaint is that it is extremely loud. My husband is driving me back to Walmart to return it and to try the Singer. I will invest in a Bernina soon, but for this weekend, just need something that can get me thru a few projects.

I have a home based sewing business and my Kenmore was accidentally pulled off my desk by my daughter. I bought this machine as a back-up to finish a few orders until my Kenmore was fixed. First, the tension had to be adjusted for every stitch everytime I used it. Didn't matter if it was the same stitch or not, the setting was NEVER the same to get a nice, pretty, even stitch. Secondly, it is LOUD. I felt like a train was coming through my sewing room. I wouldn't recommend this machine to more advanced sewers only because it will be a disappointment... And, I hesitate to say it would be good for even part-time crafters and sewers because of the level of knowledge needed to make it sew nice-enough. I've kept it for a back-up just in case I need it again... But, it's really not worthy of the quality I prefer to give my clients.

Wow, an amazing product for a spectacular price. This sewing machine is absolutely great. I have never sewn before and was stitching in just a few minutes. Easy instructions with book and DVD to get you started. All the features you could want and a solid piece of workmanship. Includes everything to get started except thread.
