3 stars and recommend because it does the job, but they recently changed the flavor. It is very chalky, powdery, and it tastes nothing like the smarties flavor it used to have. I actually might stop buying them and carry juice instead. That's how bad the flavor has gotten. I wish they went back to the juicy flavor... u almost wanted to keep eating them. Now I even wait longer until I have to take it because I gag a little with the new flavor.
These have been my go to glucose tabs for a number of years. Recently the bottle changed and unfortunately so did the tabs. They are extremely chalky (pretty much inedible without a drink) and there where quite a few broken ones in the bottle.
Works very well to bring my blood sugar up from a low, but why the Trans fat (Hydrogenated vegetable oil) as ingredient? Because of that I will buy other glucose tablets without. FYI that isn't listed on this site in the ingredients. I am holding a bottle in my hand that list it.
I have been having a hard time finding the Relion tropical fruit 50 count glucose tablets at my local Walmart. Today I went really early and was thrilled to find them in stock so bought 4 bottles to stock up. The bottle has changed and is slightly larger and bulkier but the product name is the same and the Tropical Fruit picture on the front is identical to the old bottle. However the product has changed. There are still three flavors but they are now different. There is no longer the white (coconut?) flavor but instead there is a very strong orange. If I wanted orange ones I could have been buying them all along as they always seem to be in stock. And the orange flavor is very strong whereas the tropical fruit tablets in the past were milder flavors. The tablets also appear to be much "chalkier" in that more of the tablets were not only broken into pieces but the bottle contained a lot of crumbs/dust (There were at least 10 broken ones in a 50-count bottle). I was very disappointed. I have been using nothing but the Relion Tropical Fruit glucose tablets for many years. Other than the different bottle size and cap, there was no indication on the bottle that the product inside had changed. If I had realized the changes I wouldn't have bought any, much less 4 bottles.
This product works very well and quickly, which is a must when having a low blood sugar! My only problem is that I can't get in online anymore!! I hope Walmart puts it back for online ordering soon!
