This is perfect for storing our `61 VW. My husband put it up in 3 hours. Good sturdy material. Good quality. Much better than the first one we ordered from another vender that cost more and inferior quality. Just had our biggest snows of the season and the snow slid off. Didn't build up...North idaho.
I bought this product in Oct 2015. It made it through the first winter with minor tears. I patched them up with gorilla tape. Last winter, the tears got bigger. I took down the entire cover to repair. While I was putting it back up, it was tearing more. The material doesn't last long at all. Doesn't hold up to changing weather conditions of Maine.
I listen to these people that write a review and say their shelter didn't stand up to the weather or didn't last long. For the winter months I put ten foot 1x4 stapping between the cross members so it would give extra support for the snow loads. Also I made a special wide broom to make sure I took the snow loads off each time it snowed. These people have got to use some common sense if you get a foot of snow and it rains, no shelter like this is going to take the weight. I have had my shelter for four or five years now and I'm in northern Canada where we know about snow loads. This shelter has even had a tree fall on it and I ordered more support tubes and it's still going. It has a few tears in the material but it's still holding.
I purchased this shelter 15 months ago. Is was holding up pretty good. I live in Michigan where I only really worry about snow or rain. Besides a little condensation buildup in the shelter it was looking good. Well about a week ago, Michigan was hit with severe wind and the cover was torn at every contact point (point where the tarp touches the poles) on the shelter. The material is weak. If you live in a windy area, I would not recommend this shelter. Or if you already have it, maybe try to reinforce he tarp at the contact points to prevent this.
I have two of these. One in my back yard for storing ride on mower, garden tools etc. Have had this one for about seven years. Anchored to wooden floor. Just started to rip along the centre line. Tarped for the winter. The second one i have had for about five years and houses my van in the winter. Expanding bolts drilled into the ashphalt have kept it secured. Both have withstood high winds and heavy snow. Starting to rip along the lower part of the roof line. Important to remove heavy drifts of snow with a snow rake. Have to replace both in the Spring, but not happy with the cost of replacement covers compared with the cost of the complete package
