Better Homes and Gardens® Seaside Garden Taupe Offset Umbrella 9'

This umbrella is nice-it's really easy to put together. I did it myself in under an hour. The only complaint I have is that the base is HUGE. I'd rather have a taller base that I could fill rather than the big base that takes up a good corner of our deck. The base is about 3' by 2.5'. I have closed the umbrella during windy occasions and haven't had any issues with the crank.

Purchased this item a few weeks ago. Received with some parts missing; however, a call got them to me in around 8 days. Product is attractive and seems to be well made. Assembled on 6/12/09 so I've not had a chance to fully evaluate. Instructions were okay but emphasis needs to be put on bottom shaft connection to base.. This must be placed in proper position so when the pole connected to the umbrella is introduced the umbrella opens forward. You will find this out only after you have filled the base with tons of water. So, I've turned the base around backwards and it opens up just fine onto my small patio. Where there's a will there's a way.

Umbrella was of good quailty for the price and rather easy to assemble. Used water instead of sand for weight as it will be easy to take apart, drain and put away for the winter season. Packaging was poor and was damaged in transit. had to order several parts that were lost. They were replaced without a hassle.

when i received this product the main pole that holds it up was missing so i called manufacturer to replace the part they told me 10 days to receive it. 14 later i still have no part and now they tell me it is on backorder and it could be another month plus to receive it. all in all it looks like a nice umbrella as the other reviewers have said but i cant tell as it has been sitting on my office floor since the ups has dropped it off. plus it is a hassle trying to reach customer service as the line is always busy & the company is all the way in canada! definately will not buy anything from this company again!!!!!!!

I bought this umbrella to shade my small patio (12x13) when my 2 year old is out playing. It went together without too much trouble and does shade over half of the patio. My only complaint is that it doesn't swivel (I thought it was supposed to but was mistaken). If they could add that as a feature so you could shade different areas without dragging the entire base around that would make it perfect! Even without a swivel feature it is a great product for the price.
