Have only used so far to make beef jerky and that turned out excellent. If fortunate to bag a deer this year will try making jerky from it. Minimal assembly required; attach wheels, handle and control unit; takes maybe 30 minutes and then break in prior to using. Very pleased with this product thusfar. Looking forward to preparing a rib roast in it very soon. Would definitely recommend

It was a gift for my fiancé, but he has used it once so far and loves it already. It's easy to use and he loves that it has a window. He also loves the remote control feature. Jet actually beat out everyone in price, too. The unit was a little scuffed up in a few areas (no dents), which would be my only complaint, but it was fine. It's not meant to be on display. It also arrived a day early. I would buy from Jet again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

So I have used my Masterbuilt probably 20 times...most of the time it works pretty well. I previously had a Bradley which was a decent machine initially but the pucks are $12 a box and you'll use half a box per smoke and a bag of wood chips is $2 and lasts for like 10+ smokes! I was glad to get away from the Bradley. My major problem with my Masterbuilt(Other than the poke in thermometer stopped working properly after 2 smokes) is a design flaw. The smoker will only keep the heat element for the woods chips on when the smoker is below the set temp!!!! Now let me ask you this....why did you want a digital smoker in the first place???? Like me I bet because you want to set it and forget it...the Masterbuilt will hit temp and stay within a degree or two of the setting which is great but once it hits temp....no more smoke! See the problem??? How Masterbuilt allow me to decide when I want to stop the smoke by not putting more wood in it??!?!!! Dumb dumb design the negates the reason you buy it in the first place

So, my first smoker couldn't hold a proper temp. It was consistently 50 degree lower than what I set it at. I checked with internal oven thermometers and an extra probe. Returned that one and got a new one. I've had the new one for a few months and only used it about 3 times so far. While the temp issue is gone, this one has electrical problems. I would be in the process of setting the temp and time and poof...the whole thing just shuts off. Other times I've gotten everything set, got the smoker up to temp, put my food in and then the smoker just turns off somewhere in the middle of my cook time. Pretty disappointing. Given the poor performance of 2 units, I would suggest looking at something else.

Assembled very easily. Manual does not have recommended cooking temps and time. Website is terrible for recommendations also. Lucky for me that I have used these smokers for years and have some recipes on hand. Go to other websites for times, temps and recipes.
