I have had this product almost since the day it came out. I switched from blackberry to Android and couldnt have been happier. Then it began, I have had 4 phone so far in total, all that froze, glitched, died, and generally just didnt function. The phone was manufactured with faulty gps soft and hardware that never commmunicated with each other properly, the phones massive run list is not compensated by its RAM which causes frequent freezes and the inevitavble battery pull. All in all for what its supposed to do it does not. One brightside to this paperweight, the screen absolutely will not scratch unless you are ruibbing sandpaper on it.
I have been using this device for about 3 weeks now and am very disappointed. The phone could be very nice with two fixes. One, a beefier battery. This one typically lasts me only until about 4pm when I have to plug it in to recharge. I am now keeping a spare battery to swap out if needed. Having a spare battery charger would help out so that I could keep extra batteries ready to go. I've never seen a phone that drains the battery like this, and that is with all settings reduced to conserve the battery life. The second issue is the lack of updates. Selling a phone in Dec 2010 that is still running 2.1 android is ridiculous. Blogs are still asking when the 2.2 Froyo update will happen which is crazy because 2.3 Gingerbread is already out. Why not allow users to update on a beta version at their own risk? I'd love to be able to get some updates that can fix other problems with this phone (such as not having voice dialing support). I can't recommend this phone with these problems.
I bought this phone back in July when I switched to my first smartphone. Great phone to work with and display is fantastic. Challenges often come from Android Apps that occassionally freeze but I believe this is an app problem rather than phone problem. Biggest disappointment is the fact that no update to Android 2.2 which is the entire reason for owning an Android phone. Not sure why and lack of communication regarding this is deeply disappointing. One reason I might not buy another Samsung phone in the future.
The phone has all the features, but fails terribly. Built in Exchange e-mail application is the worst I have ever had. It's slow to load, crashes all the time and stops running all by itself. Great screen, best part of the phone. Samsung has a terrible reputation of upgrading it's phone software. This is deserved. Still waiting for Froyo, something all other phones that compete with this device has had for months. They blame carrier, but then why do other devices have it already. And now gingerbread is out. This will be the last Samsung phone I will ever own.
This phone started shutting itself off after owning it for about one month. It turns itself off continuously. It seems like every time I check my phone it is off then i have to wait for it to reboot after pushing the on button. Can't rely on the alarm clock because 9 out of 10 times it will be off and wont ring. I miss calls all the time. You can't see the display screen when outside in bright sunlight plus I almost have to charge it on a daily basis and a rarely use the phone. I hate this phone.
