Set thermostat at 73 degrees. Temp go to 74 degrees. Air conditioning turns on. Temp hits 73 degrees but air conditioner stays on until the temp reaches 72 degrees. The heat part of the thermostat works the same way!

I've had this thermostat for about a year now. I original had a nest thermostat and while I really liked it, it would not stay connected to my phone. I think I kept zapping it with static electricity and it would make the Wi-Fi part in it go out. So I just bought something simple. I've read a lot of the reviews and I have not had any of the issues others have had from what I remember setting it up a year ago it was fairly easy. my only issue with it is there's no backup light and I can't figure out how to get one to turn on. It sucks in the middle of the night trying to see what the temperature is at. I have to use my phone or turn on some light.

does not turn on heat at set low temp, or keep heater on until set temp is reached. carefully programmed for all scenarios (weekday, weekend, day, night, evening, etc). But would only attempt to start heater when power switch was moved to OFF, then back to HEAT. Simply does not work.

For a Honeywell this thing is a huge bummer. Got it to replace a similar model that had shorted in a rental and it's just incredibly cheap and the functions lag or the programming fails. When I worked HVAC Honeywell was our go to but now I know why we shelled out an extra 20 or more bucks for better models. Do yourself a favor and consider doing the same.

We needed to get a new thermostat because the one we had went kaput. So after some researching on popular site named after a river I was convinced that this is perfect for what we needed. All you have to do is remove the old one and put this one on. They should have plug and play on the label it was that easy. All the wires are color coded and you just place them with the corresponding letter. B for blue wire, G for green wire and so on. Pop in some AAA's (not included) and your done! The only reason I went to Walmart was because I live in California and we can not live with out AC, I couldn't be bothered with same day shipping. Whole process driving to store and replacing it was about 1hr and half with lunch time traffic.
