I had a older 50cfm model that was in my home since before I bought it ten years ago. I purchased this 80cfm and was able to swap the internals from the new on directly into the old one with just taking off one nut a pry of a screwdriver and two insulated wire nuts!!! By far easiest swap ever!!! This one is so much more quiet and was so easy to swap out! You forever have my business and I swear more company's need to take note of how easy this was. I'm a industrial mechanic and fight with stupidly engineered designs constantly but who ever designed this needs a hand shake where the others deserve a kick in the rear! Seriously thank you! 10 minute job tops!
I had the old unit out and had installed the new HD80l. Upon inspection of the unit I found the flapper would not close completely. To get the flapper to close completely I had to glue a small weight to the flapper. After doing this the flapper opened and closed as it should. Not that big of a deal but disappointed.
I bought a brand new fan, went to install it and had no problems until hanging the light and cap... the hardware that holds the light sconce in place and “springs“ that hold on the cover were not even in the box. Very disappointed.
My contractor had bought another fan, I felt it was not doing the job. So my next handiman and I searched the web, and he felt this would fit the opening, and be better than my other new one. It is works great. The other new fan I donated to somebody redoing their house from superstorm Sandy.
80 cfm is a major help in keeping the mirrors fog free. Installation was a little more difficult than planned because this was a replacement not a new installation. had to cut off the mounting ears to fit the hole, and use inside screwholes, but overall, I am really pleased with the fan and light. support for 100 watt light is also a plus.
