Kidde Combo Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm P3010K

This alarm works as it should, but it is not maintenance free. You MUST clean it annually with compressed air. Otherwise, it can become triggered as a false alarm. I look forward to it lasting 10 yrs., at which time you must replace it.

False alarms happen weekly and always in the middle of the night. My family has become immune to the alarms going off for no reason. I have two other non CO Kidde alarms and they all do the same thing and always go off in the middle of the night and it's not a dust issue. I'm replacing them with a different brand.

I have 4 of these and 6 of the smoke alarm only in my house. The basement CO detector went off about midnight, but it took until the morning for me to have the fire truck come check. Thankfully it was a false alarm as the constant beeping (of it dying) wasn't a real emergency. It did not communicate with others. Now to go find another company to replace ALL my alarms, especially since they only lasted 4 years. Too much worrying to trust the remaining 9.

Lasted about a year Ryder 28 days ago This product was supposed to last 10 years without needing to be replaced. It lasted about a year. If you like being woken up at 4:00 in the morning to climb a tall ladder to remove the beeping device, then this is for you.

I bought 4 of these along with 10 year smoke detectors. I like doing things 1x and not having to mess with it again. I installed this September before my new tenant moved in. Fast forward 6 months, the tenant texts how they can replace the battery because it keeps chirping. I have bought dozens of smoke detectors that use 9v batteries and I have never had one die in less than 1 year. How a 10 year smoke detector dies in 6 months is beyond. This product is garbage. It was manufactured June 2022, installed September 2022, low battery February 2023.
