Fisher Price Merchandise

Original purchase from Walmart, which went smooth, but the transmitter unit's sound mic was broken, I had Video but no sound unless I bent the camera at a 90~ angle. I called Mattel's (Parent to Fisher Price) customer service. They were very nice and helpful and sent me a replacement transmitter within a few days. That one was obviously used, which I didn't care, except it was broken, and didn't send any signal to the receiver at all. So now I have three units, all junk and I still cant watch my kid.

I wasn't very excited about paying so much for a monitor, but am I ever happy I let my fiance talk me into this product. Excellent sound and picture quality. It even got great reception across the street at my neighbors house (of course it was my fiance's toy before our son was born). It mounts easily to the wall (not in a corner though) or sits nicely on any flat service. We don't really use the music and night light features, our son just doesn't seem to care, but they are pretty neat anyway. The only reason I didn't give it all 5 stars was due to the short battery life of the receiver, maybe only 2-3 hrs or so of battery life when un-plugged, though this has never really been a problem, and the quality of the buttons on the transmitter unit are a little cheap. But everything works just fine. If you want a video monitor I definately recommend this product. I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Before last week we had only used this monitor about 5 times. The receiver does not hold a charge well and the screen rolls and changes colors. Also, there is a feature where the screen is supposed to turn on automatically when the child makes noise. Well, that doesn't work either. I contacted Fisher Price and since the product has been discontinued, they cannot send me a replacement receiver. They have, however, offered me a full refund. I'm not sure I want to reinvest in this product when some reviews are showing that other people are having some of the same problems that we are.

We have used this monitor daily for 3 months & are very satisfied. Now that our 2 yr old has graduated to a toddler bed & has more freedom, we decided we needed to "see" what he was doing at nap & bedtime. I researched all of the video monitors & read all the reviews & for the price & features on this monitor, as well as, our happiness with the Fisher Price audio-only monitor that we used for our son's first 2 yrs, we decided to try this monitor. Now that we have a video monitor, I can't imagine not having one to see what my little guy is doing. We also have a baby on the way, therefore we'll get a lot of use out of this monitor. We're happy with the picture on the screen & have never had any problem with static or interference. The ability to control the music from the receiver is an added feature, which will be more useful with the new baby. The only negative that we've found is that the charged battery only lasts about an hour & a half before you must plug it in. We knew this from the other reviews & it's only a slight inconvenience, since you can recharge it while still using it wherever you are. We were spoiled with the audio monitor which had 2 receivers with long batteries, so there was always one charged up & ready to go. We have the monitor mounted on the wall across from our son's bed to get the best view, so the audio is not the greatest, due to the distance, but we can push the video button any time to quickly check on him & then turn it back off. Overall, we are very pleased with this monitor & highly recommend this product!

We actually got this product a little late as my child is 18 months now. We have found it so useful and wish we would have purchased sooner. Some of the time I thought my child was sleeping, she was actually just playing quietly in her bed. We have not had any problems with static, interference, distance, or etc. Our ONLY complaint is that the battery does not last that long.
