Health o meter HDL050DQ-05 Digital Scale

This scale worked for a day or two, then it locked up displaying the last reading that it took. No amount of stepping on and off fixed it, and two days later the battery was dead. At this point I got the scale that it was to replace back out of the trash. I was only replacing it because I didn't want to be bothered finding the right battery for it. Fortunately the batteries were not that hard to find and only $3 for a pair. Since the same battery fit the new scale as well, I went ahead and placed it in there, and the new scale was now working, and has been working for several weeks now. Last night I decided to run an experiment. I stepped on and off the new scale several times and compared the readings. The numbers varied over a range of more than four pounds. This makes this scale almost useless to me.

I'm really not sure how accurate the scale is. I can weigh myself a few times and it comes in within a pound, I think that's pretty good. BUT it's a cheap scale. I had mine less than 2 weeks and I dropped my hair dryer on it. What 3 foot fall.. And it has a giant hole. I had a model of this scale I bought in the store years ago and loved it. I should of stuck with one from the store they are a thicker plastic.

Very lightweight easy to use scale. I basically bought this to keep track of my sick cat's weight. It works pretty well, but doesn't have the capability to keep track of 2 people's weights as the description claimed. But I don't need that option so it doesn't really matter to me.

The scale pictured here is model number HDL050 but is being advertised as model HDM560DQ-1 which has the tracking for 2 users. What you actually get does not. I ordered it online and went by the description and model number but if you go down to the specifications, the model numbers don't match up. I'm going to try to bring it back to the store and see if I can exchange it for what I really wanted to get.

I had a more expensive Health o Meter scale for over 10 years; it worked well, had several extra features that I never used, and finally stopped working, even with a new battery. The new one was on sale for $15 and shipped free; it is a simple bathroom scale and meets my needs perfectly. It's still a bargain at $19.99 in my opinion... I didn't rate the durability of this product because I have only had it for about 2 months. I expect it to last another 10 years or so.
