I use this all the time now and my car seems to run better.
I am considering using this oil in our 2011 Escape Hybrid. However, the product label lists a different Ford specification than that shown in the owner's manual. Since the manual calls for an older specification, I came to the Pennzoil website for clarification. The website does list the older specification, but it does not mention to specification shown on the product label. If the product is good for both specifications, that's great, but why would I trust that to be the case when the website doesn't even list the specification shown on the product label? Formulations change, and I appreciate that. That's why I depend on a manufacturer to let me know what specifications and applications their products are designed to meet. Disappointing.
I used to buy quaker state but when i did a teardown and rebuild of my dodge ram engine i found a lot of oil sludge at the bottom a friend suggested Pennzoil which I tried and when I re did my engine there was no sludge the journeys and components were completely scoured clean and there was zero wear on bearings and pistons I'm amazed Now I only use Pennzoil in all my gasoline and diesel engines
After running Pennzoil Platinum for one week. I checked the oil and when I wiped off the dip stick. I removed varnish that has been there for the last 1 1/2 years that I have owned this truck. 85,000 miles.
I had a quick rattle on startup 2007 Mustang 4.6 L @ 58K miles. I tried other premium oil and filters and was beginning to think it was a more serious mechanical issue. I switched to this oil and a (another brand ultra-synthetic) filter (because they don't sell Pennzoil filters in my area), and the noise was instantly gone. From the first crank, no more. Startup is smooth, quick, easy. Motor and car run noticeably smoother. The product says it provides the same protection as 5W-20, so I'm covered there. Looking forward to trying this stuff out.
