I had been using a blade but decided to go try an electric for the convenience. While it is much more convenient than a blade, the shave is not consistent in that there are usually several spots that that I have to re-shave (and then re-shave again) to complete the process. That is why I deem the performance just good.

Well I picked up this razor at a second hand store...dirt cheap...they also can be found at goodwill stores and such...and it was unopened brand new in the box for $50....which is awesome since they sold for $199.99 originally...I think it's because they came out with new models...anyways i have tried electric razors in the past and was never happy as they wouldn't cut the hair on my neck very well but this one does a great job....it actually cuts as close as my regular razor does (i've used gillette proglide and schick hydro 5)...the key to this electric razor is don't let your beard get too long or it will be harder to get a good shave...2-3 days of growth at the most between shaves...if you wait longer than that it takes alot longer and is harder to cut the hairs....most people shave everyday i guess but i usually shave every 2nd or 3rd day....even if you pay the full price it's still cheaper than buying expensive replacement blades for regular razors....this electric razor will last you for years and years...and the heads only need to be changed like once a year which cost about $30....you pay almost $30 for 6 replacement blades for gillette proglide...and it will take several of those throughout the year...so overall you end up saving a ton of money with using the electric razor...this razor cuts as close as shaving up with a regular razor and without the irritation you get when shaving up with a regular razor....at least i get irritation with a regular razor if i shave up so i was forced to only shave down thus not getting a very close shave and with todays 5 blade shavers it's hard to shave going up under your nose and such lol...and i always manage to cut my chin when i use a regular razor for some reason....the electric makes it easy...i was very surprised at how well this shaver works.....give it a try for a few weeks...you will not be disappointed

At $150 the razor is pretty expensive especially when excellent ones can be had for around $80. Shaves close and is very quiet which others in the house appreciate since I get up very early in the mornings. You get at least two weeks worth of shaves on a charge and the charge time is only 1 1/2 hours from low to fully charged. On the downside, the razor cannot be left on the charger after the razor is fully charged. In other words there is no over charge protection. But since a full charge can be had in just over an hour, it's really not a problem.

I have been using Norelcos since 2000. I had too many issues with foil type shavers not shaving well enough and I don't like the straight razor irritation and cost. This is my 3rd Norelco and it is the best one yet. Even though I came from a Norelco, it has taken about 2 weeks for my face to adapt to this one. Best shave I have ever had with an electric, darn close to straight raxor quality. The battery actually lasts 3 weeks and it is very quiet. This model is great compared to the other Arcitec models as it doesn't have the useless gadgets of the more expensive versions. I know there are mixed reviews out there, but this is a great shaver. Remember to give it a couple weeks. No electric does better on the neck.

I paid more than double for this high-end razor versus a standard model expecting a fabulous shave but it is only slightly better than the standard. The floating heads sounded great in the ad but the performance and comfort of the cut is not much better than a Norleco half its price. So it's not what I expected.
