Tama Starphonic 6”x14” Stainless Steel Snare Drum

This Starphonic model features a 6”x14”, 1mm thick Stainless Steel shell for a very solid but resonant tone. The shell combined with the Resonant Sound Edge (R.S.E.) provides a bright and open sound that is reminiscent of vintage metal snare drums from the 20s. But the Starphonic Stainless Steel snare drum has a strength and power way beyond a vintage drum. A modern innovation is an improvement in the drum’s resonance from an innovation called the Resonant Sound Edge. This allows your TAMA snare to resonant more than a standard metal shell snare drum because of the special air chamber within the bearing edge. The Resonant Sound Edge also allows the drum to create more dynamic sounds than on a standard bearing edge This Starphonic snare drum also features 10 dual Freedom Lugs with a Grooved Hoop. This allows the drumhead to be loosened and changed without having to remove the lug screws completely. Once loosened, the lug screw swings away from the grooved hoop to allow the drum head change. Very fast, very easy but also very strong. Also featured in the design of this excellent snare drum is the TAMA “Linear Drive” Snare Strainer with the Detachable Butt. The Linear Drive Strainer pulls the snares smoothly and evenly across the snare head (without any “snap”) and provides great sensitivity and adjustability. The bottom hoop has open channels for the snares and with the detachable snare butt, allows for easy and fast changes of the snare head without altering the tension of the snares.
