Selección Especial is a bright yet deep red, denoting a young wine. On the nose it is clean and fragrant, with aromatic complexity featuring fruity aromas of blackberry, red plum, and figs, along with floral hints of wild rose and spiced notes of clove and bay leaf. Initially, the taste is broad, vibrant, and fresh, yet smooth and mellow due to its fine-grained mature tannins that coat the palate. It has a long finish and is certain to improve over time. Crafted from Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot, it is concentrated and fruity, offering a perfect balance between black fruit and aging. This wine has been included in the TOP 100 by Wine Spectator. The low temperatures early in the year resulted in a later bud break than usual. Scarce rainfall in the winter and spring, combined with favorable conditions in June and July, ensured excellent grape ripeness at harvest, despite a lower annual yield.
