I am a user of the Mighty Mule Driveway Alarm (FM231) Product and am writing a review. My home is about 200 feet off the main roadway in Tampa, Florida. My first four each lasted well over five to six years. This is my fifth one. Just follow the instructions and use lithium "A.A. Batteries (Batteries don't corrode damaging contacts.) I set up a schedule to replace them every six months. My "SENSOR" is set one foot off, parallel to the concrete driveway, and one foot in the ground. I have received false alerts, which I feel have been due to a heavy 18-wheeler driving at a high rate of speed on the main roadway, which is well over 150 feet. Most of the time I have no issues as it lets me know evertime someone has arrived out front. Having used them at our ranch home, they are great handy home security tools. One night, a young kid drove into the driveway at 2:00 AM. I woke up and saw him in the driveway; when his dome light went on, so did my flood lights. The door closed, and he left. I now have two front gates. 1. What specific model of Mighty Mule product is being referred to? Driveway Alarm copyright 2012. 2. How is the product's performance during adverse weather conditions? The yard was once underwater for three days after a hurricane and seems to do better over time with no added adjustments to sensitivity. 3. Are there any specific installation tips or tricks for optimal performance? With one, I had issues with the wire detaching from the plug, but it has improved with the USB plug. I still wrap the tape around the wire and sensor to help it stay attached and keep air from rusting any parts. It took me just over an hour to set up, digging a trench for the inground sensor. I loved them all, and this is my last box in 25 years.

My mighty mule alarm goes off at 1:30 am 4:40am just wakes me up and no car is ever in sight it also goes off during the day and no vehicle, also when a vehicle arrives it will neglect to go off. I have had a mighty mule drive way alarm for 2 years that worked perfectly, this mighty mule is obviously defective. Even though i bought it on line from walmart. com they arent responsible naturally I'm suppose to contact Zero who is the 3rd party seller. However when I click on Zero it takes me to the Walmart site. I cant even return this item for a refund because it is in the ground with concrete. So I'm not happy and just flushed 91 bucks.

Works great if you can stay close to the receiver all day. But useless if you go out of the room. Alarm volume not loud enough and no option for aux alarm.

Works great. Had to do minor adjustment, after set up. READ the directions !! Can't figure out why some people had trouble. Works for me. I have the base in the bedroom and can still hear it clearly in the kitchen and living room. Priced right as far as I'm concerned.
