This die came with my Accuquilt Go! cutter, and I promptly set it aside. I have a pattern from years ago that I wanted to make, Georgia Bonesteel Wedding Ring, and realized that Yes, I can use my Accuquilt to cut this out, not the little plastic templates that came with the pattern. Got this cut out in 2 evenings, and all of those little triangles are so precise! Now I am wondering which of the other patterns in my archive I can make up with my Value Die!
I have been wanting to get either the GO Baby or GO cutter for some time. I am not a big quilter, but like to dabble. I have severe back, neck, hand issues and having one of these cutters and some dies, would make it so much easier for me to enjoy quilting. Also would save a lot of time on cutting, get more accurate pieces and take away a lot of frustration quilting even a small quilt. Last weekend it took me all afternoon and evening to rotary cut 120 squares-- some 2 1/4'" and the others 2 5/8". My back and neck have been very painful since. I am a 62 yo disabled nurse, on low income. I like to take advantage of sales like this but can't get the money all at once to pay for what I need. I keep hoping some magic angel will get me one with dies
While I waited for the additional dies I ordered, I have taken some of my smaller scraps and used this die for an assortment of squares and triangles. I have already used some of these to make coasters and mug rugs. These will make wonderful scrappy quilts.
I had never quilted before and the thought of measuring & using the rotary cutter made my mind numb and kept me from trying my hand at quilting. So, my husband bought me the Go! Baby a couple of months ago for my birthday. With it, he included the Go! Baby tote, a die pick, the Value Die, the 2 x 4 finished rectangle & various mats to go with it all! This is a must have for all quilters! Just add the strip cutter and the rectangles & you have yourself your first quilt! I did and now I can't do without my Go! Baby!
I recently used this die to make Bonnie Hunter's Bricks in the Barnyard quilt. I might have given up on the half square triangles if it weren't for this die. It saved me so much time. This is a versatile die that will pay for itself if you like pieced scrappy quilts.
