I bought this product at Walmart because of the price and reviews. I bathed my dog and let the shampoo sit for 10 minutes. It worked like the reviews said, I noticed fleas in the water and she seemed to be flea free after the first day. Bella was given frontline 10 days prior to her bath. Well, I'm sad to report that after 1 week she still has fleas. For $6 more I could have bought the upgraded shampoo that kills flea eggs too. This shampoo is great to prevent fleas but if your pet is infested, I recommend the other shampoo that kills eggs too.

My cat had an infestation of fleas, I picked up most part of them, bathe him with a regular shampoo, but did not work, after the bath the fleas were still alive and kept biting my cat. I decided the last step for the flea thing would be an anti flea shampoo, I search online and I found this and decided to give it a try. Last night white I was giving him the bath, while the 10 minutes on his coat, I found already dead fleas and also when I rinsed him. Later, when I was drying him with the towel I fond again more dead fleas, but they were dead not just knock down and minutes after ready to keep sucking my cat’s blood. I don’t often write reviews but this time I decided to do because this is a good product to recommend, just follow the instructions about the abundant lather and let it stay on the hair at least 10 minutes.

I use it exactly as per the instructions - lather them up real good , leave it on for atleast 5 minutes and rinse thoroughly . Before you start washing your pet put some of the shampo diluted with water or just put a little bit ( tablespoon or so )of straight shampoo in a small bowl close to where you will be drying them , just in case some jump off that aren't quite dead yet , and believe me , thier will be . When you do see one , dip your fingertip in the water then press down on the flea , then dip your fingertip back into the water mixture and the flea will stay in the water , dead , very dead . I dry my little girl real good with a towel , then , I use a hair dryer on low and when her hair starts to get somewhat dry , I usually do see a few fleas drop onto the bathroom vanity , then I use my fingertip in the water trick and kill the little creatures . I never mix topical treatments ( drops ) and flea baths - as a matter of fact , I don't use the drops anylonger . Before using Adams shampoos' I tried Frontline , Advantix , Advantage , flea collars and everything else under the sun and nothing worked . Adams shampoos' were superior by far . You know you are using the right stuff when you see your pet go from itching , scratching and biting at fleas and being miserable to , not itching , scratching and biting at fleas and taking those much needed cat naps in peace . Here's another tip to kill the little creatures when you use your vacuum cleaner . I have a bissell upright canister vacuum , here's what I do with mine . I put about a tablespoon of Adams flea and tick shampoo mixed with enough water to fill about an inch in the canister . I have found that by doing this it traps and kills any fleas that are vacuumed up into the canister , they fall into the shampoo mixture and die . Most people probably empty thier canister into the trash can , close the lid and call it a day . Well , guess what , those fleas aren't dead just because you put them into the trash can , front yard , back yard or where you dumped them - you have just enabled the cycle of life for them . If you do try this , be carefull not to lower the handle of your vacuum cleaner to far down because you have some water in your canister now . I do this every time I vacuum now . Adams is the best home treatment I've ever used , and thats a fact !

The shampoo immediately killed numerous fleas and the lanolin eased the itching skin of my cat. His coat is soft and shiny and he feels much more comfortable. I can see by his attitude that he is much better. Now I will treat him with Advantage drops for a permanent solution. This product is not intended to keep fleas off the pet for a long length of time, but to kill the ones on the animal.
