Leaves my hair smelling lovely and usually some shampoos leave my scalp quite itchy however this one doesn't. Perfect for those Afro hair. Would recommend
This shampoo is terrible I don't know why they changed the formula this shampoo doesn't even suds up. I used the dandruff shampoo and conditioner and it worked great in my hair but they discontinued it so I bought the deep cleansing but it definitely isn't the same
You had a great shampoo formula, and then you change it drastically only to bring out a line that I guess is supposed to replace what you had originally?? The old formula was amazing and did what it claims on the package: Deep cleaned. Now we have a super moisturizing formula that cleans nothing at all. And to add insult to injury, you bring out a new (and inferior) ABS line to try to placate everyone who is angry with your formula change. I'm very disappointed and so are a lot of your customers. If you actually cared about who buys your products and puts money in your wallets, you'd change the formula back.
The old formula was the best thing that ever happened to my hair and scalp. Nothing else I have ever used has helped relieve the painful itchiness, flakiness, and sebum buildup that plagues me. It made my curls thrive, gave me volume and new confidence. I stocked up on the shampoo because I had never been so pleased with a hair care product before. I gave some to a friend who has the same scalp problems I do and she loved it so much I decided I'd buy some more for both of us since I was running out at the time. I didn't realize the formula had changed. When I got the product, I thought I'd received a counterfeit. The color, consistency, and smell were all wrong. I tried it anyway and have regretted it ever since. My hair is limp with less curl and feels greasy and weighted down. But the worst is my scalp. Where the old formula kept most of my symptoms at bay, the new one is like pouring gasoline on a fire. My scalp is irritated, red, oily, flaky, and it got so bad I had to change my hairstyle to try to hide the flare-up on my hairline and forehead. This is a completely different product now, and shouldn't be sold as the same thing. I'm not confident in using Shea Moisture as my go-to brand for skin and hair care any more. I feel like replacing all SM products I use after this - shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair styling products, facial cleanser, face cream, masques - if the formula of a product I love can be changed so drastically with no notice. It's one thing to discontinue a product, and another to quietly change it to something unusable.
I'm doing a new care routine for my wavy hair - and that has been leaving product residue and a flakey scalp. I researched the best clarifying shampoos, and this one made a few lists. The good price point meant I wanted to try it! Firstly, it doesn't lather AT ALL. Fine, I know that's not necessarily a marker of how clean your hair is getting, so I kept an open mind. But basically in the end instead of clarifying it seems like this shampoo just deposits oils and weight. My hair felt LESS clean after using it. The opposite of what I want in a weekly clarifying routine. I was wondering why so many people had recommended it in online lists - and now see that it's a new formula. If you're going to change a shampoo THAT much you should just discontinue one and make a new one. I feel like this is a bait and switch. Very disappointed and I wish I could return it.
