ALEX Toys Tea Set Basket

To say that I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the ALEX Toy Tea Set Basket would be an understatement! My daughter loves having tea parties with her dolls & stuffed animals and has been begging to have a tea set of her own. I carefully scrutinized and reviewed every set I came across and finally found one that I knew she'd be delighted with. Where do I begin? The set serves four, with a cup, saucer, and napkin for each guest. It also includes a teapot with lid, creamer, and a sugar bowl for the perfect lay out. All of the pieces can be neatly stored in the hinged wicker basket which is lined with the same whimsical polka dot pattern as the napkins and matching tablecloth. And did I mention the pieces were porcelain and not plastic!? My daughter squealed with delight when she discovered her set was just like mommy's! Although I was initially concerned about the possibility of something breaking, my fears were quickly put to rest when I realized how well made and sturdy the pieces are. This ALEX Toys Tea Set Basket is perfect for mother/daughter time, as well as for pretend play with friends!

I gave this teaset to my daughter for valentines day, she loved it and wanted to go for a picnic then only. So, the tea set is cute but the cups and saucers are very small the cups can hardly hold a tea spoon if liquid. However the tea set has been packed really well, the basket is very cute and it comes with matching polka dot napkins. If not for playing, can be used as a show piece too.

The basket is nice, has a good quality feel to it. The cups, plates, and teapot are real glass, like mini coffee cup material. Not sure if that is a good idea for kids, but maybe it can teach them to be careful around glass. It comes with a few decorative napkins as well and the basket is lined with the same material. This is a good set for maybe older kids, not sure I'd recommend for toddlers since it is fragile.

I received this ALEX Toys Tea Set Basket recently and I selected it to give to one of my granddaughters for her birthday. She was 9 years old on January 20th. This tea set is adorable and she loves it. I was surprised that the dishes are actually made of glass. I was expecting plastic, but they're not. She has so much fun pretend playing with the set and with her little sister and friends. The basket is very well made and it also comes with a little table cloth and napkins. The plastic inserts protect the glass tea set and I would recommend keeping the dishes in them so they don't break. If you just put the dishes in the basket, they will crash around and might break. All in all, a very cute set and any little girl would love it.

I am absolutely in love with this Toy Tea Set basket. I did not look at the age requirements when I selected it so I was initially surprised that the actual tea set is porcelain or ceramic (breakable) and not plastic. This was worrisome at first as my daughter is 2 1/2 years old. After taking the cardboard off of the basket, I inspected the wicker basket and it is just so adorable. It has a handle and even a little lock area to enable carrying of the tea set from one location to another. Opening it, everything was separated in two different compartments within the basket and inside plastic containers (which I am keeping to continue putting the tea set in to prevent chipping). This tea set comes with 4 plates, 4 tea cups, a tea pot with lid, creamer container, and sugar container with lid. The accessories include 4 little napkins and a small little "table cloth". I was disappointed to find that this set did not include tea spoons as well, but I ended up just going and purchasing some plastic appetizer spoons and it is doing the job nicely. My daughter and I played with this tea set for over 3 hours the first night, she wanted to play longer but had to go to bed. Ever since then, she has been asking to have a tea party every night (we will not allow her to handle this product alone because it is breakable and she is only 2 1/2 years old). If your child is 8 years old, the recommended age for play, and responsible I don't see where there would be an issue with allowing them to keep it out all the time. Each day it seems as if we play longer and longer, she has not tired of this tea set in any way. Overall the product is very nice. It is adorable and durable (ceramic or porcelain). The carry basket is made of wicker material and can easily be used for other things when the child outgrows the tea set kit. I would highly recommend this product for children 8 years and above for alone play, but if you want to add a little clink to your smaller ones tea party, you can always get this as the "special guests only set".... The only drawback was the fact there were no spoons to use, I also think it would be a nice touch if they added a little tong accessory for the sugar cubes.
