Nerf bars are a necessity for moderately sized PU owners and passengers like us. These went on easily and look good. Mounting brackets are not as wide as others including the Dodge dealer supplied ones, but they appear to be heavy enough to survive winter. Time will tell. The 4 in. version projects further beyond the body line than I had anticipated, but that is a convenience as well as a tight space maneuvering issue.

We were shorted a bunch of lock washers, and needed to shim the rear mounts down to level the steps. Overall they seem solid. There were some chips in the powder coat as well. Not bad for the price. Little disappointed with the lack of hardware and need to shim. Be aware and prepared for this if you buy these.

The Nerf Bars were easy to install and look great on a black explorer. Had to use the on-line instructions cause the ones that came with the product were not clear at all. The only negative I had was that they shorted me 8 washers and had to stop the job and run down to hardware store to buy the washers to finish up. I recommend this product for anyone with an explorer.

Install would have been a 1/2 to 1 hr if not for one little glitch, the front hanger brackets didn't line up using the factory body holes on either side of the main body brackets,they were off by 1 and a 1/2 inches, haven't bothered calling cust. serv. yet, just baught some longer bolts and 1/4" wall steel tubing for spacers and seems to be working fine.

I bought the Aries nerf bars to go on a 2012 Toyota Tundra double cab. They are very solid good looking bars. The ends bend to tuck under the cab and the ends of the bars are all stainless steel unlike other manufactures which use a plastic end cap. The only reason I rated the appearance and quality 4/5 instead of 5/5 is the step pads are a hard plastic and the silver Aries logo in each step pad is just a thin metallic insert. The step pads look plasticy and just a little cheap and the logo inserts which looked like a metal medallion in the pictures are a disappointment if that is what you have envisioned. All in all these are small detractors from an otherwise very sturdy and good looking set of nerf bars. Installation was easy and pretty intuitive, just be sure to install all of the brackets and the nerf bar before tightening any of the bolts.
