I'm afraid I was not impressed with this product. The towels are a good size and very moist. They are easy to use and the package is resealing to keep the towel moist for later use, but that is the best thing I can say for them. They do take the surface dirt off, so if you just need a quick touch up they may work for you just fine, but forget it for any real dirt. It also tells you not to use it when the temperature is hot. So if the car is hot, it will likely evaporate before you can make any headway. I took a before and after picture and as you can see there is not much difference, and the one thing I didn't like was it seemed to leave what looked like lint behind on the hood of the car. In the long run I think your better off just running it through a car wash.
Armor All Ultra Shine Wash Wipes is a wonderful product for little jobs. Pros- The pros of the Armor All Ultra Shine Wash Wipes, 12-ct is that it is packaged well. It comes in a box which makes it less likely to be opened or dried out when you purchase it. The thick blue cloths are durable and hold up well. The cloths smell wonderful. The cloths are full of product and you can get lots of use out of each one. Cons- The cons of Armor All Ultra Shine Wash Wipes, 12-ct is that in comparison to your vehicle they are rather small. To actually wash your whole car with one of these would be a tedious task. For some spots on my car I had to scrub extra hard to remove the dirt. I am also not sure how you would be able to reach all parts of the vehicle to properly clean it. By doing a cost comparison I would rather run my car to the car wash than purchase these wipes. The wipes are just under $8. You would definitely have to use more than one wipes to achieve a sufficient clean. They are great for small spots if you don't have the time for the car wash but otherwise I wouldn't recommend.
I got this thinking that it would be useful for spot cleaning the cars (when the rear view mirror gets grimy, birds poop on the windshield etc). But there are 12 XL sheets and one sheet actually cleans a large surface - I used one sheet to clean about 1/3 rd of my minivan. I can see using maybe 2 sheets for a small car. Definitely a good for spot cleaning, or wiping off the windshield. I cant see this completely replacing the car wash, but its good for in between jobs!
I choose this product because I was curious about whether or not it really would work. It actually does. The wipes themselves are huge. This is a very big plus. You really need larger wipes for vehicles to be able to get the job done without going through an entire packet of them. They are thick. Definitely needed, to be able to take those long swipes per instruction,s for cleaning. They have a slight citrus scent that is pleasant. I did find them a bit drying on my hands, though. I waited an entire week before using on our car, that is a long commute car. Dust and dirt gathered rather easily along with bird droppings from parking. I would say this was a solid medium amount of grime. The wipes were able to take the grime off in most swipes, just once. The more stubborn spots, I got by finding a clean spot on the wipes and wiped again with excellent results. There is enough room on the wipes so if you use both sides effectively, only one wipe was needed for each side of a dirty car. I used a third for the windows and and lights, since it was recommended they be buffed after use and I did not want any bird dropping grime residue left on them.. That was my choice and may not always be necessary. I waited 1/2 hour and looked at the car and was extremely pleased to see the car had a high shine after it had dried. It still held the shine 2 hours later. Sweet!!! I love that no waxing was needed. Second pic was taken after car was wiped down. I used fresh wipe to show size and texture. These are ideal as a substitute for water conservation or if time constraints these are an issue. Touch ups for bird dropping, PERFECT!. Small jobs likes bikes, great for on the road. I would use these for when the small grand kids come over and give them to "clean" their motor toys. {Hot wheel cars came out shiny shiny shiny}. I think even collectors could clean and polish their flea market finds if careful. , For the dryness I used lotion for my hands after and was totally fine, but most cleaner tend to dry my hands anyhow, so not a big deal for me. I imagine if you have large vehicles, or extremely dirty vehicles, this could be very costly, but for small jobs and touch ups, a very nice wipe indeed.
We live in a very rural area where it's 99% dirt roads, and when the wind blows, our car gets quite dirty. It took 4 wipes (10 x 15 inches each) to clean and shine our little compact car in less than 1/2 hour so will get about 3 uses for under $8. Not bad considering car washes cost about $8 or more these days. These thick blue Armor All Ultra Shine Wash Wipes are very convenient to use anytime, anywhere, without the hose, and dirty soapy water mess. I like the tab to pull in front of package, to keep unused wipes moist, so they shouldn't dry out for next use. I looked everywhere on box to find ingredients, because there is a perfumey smell coming from wipes, but couldn't find any. Thank God for the internet to search, and find a P.D.F. safety data sheet on armorall.com, but still doesn't say much. Most of information was not available, nor determined, nor known, but did say ingredients were not hazardous to health. Kind of bothered me that ingredients are not listed, and also that if these wipes set on fire, after being dried out, they might produce carbon oxides, silicon dioxides, and formaldehyde. Also says to avoid contact with eyes and wash hands after using wipes. We don't like using dangerous chemicals on anything anymore so I hope they will list ingredients soon. I also checked to see who had the lowest price, and as usual, Walmart wins again :-) Some companies are charging over $12! Instead of throwing these wipes out after using, I'm washing dirt out, rinsing, and using to wipe other messes up. Kind of like recycling, and if there were chemicals on those wipes, sure don't smell them anymore :-)
